1978 Triumph Spitfire Base Convertible 2-door 1.5l on 2040-cars
Oxford, Mississippi, United States
This Auction is for a 1978 Triumph Spitfire. It has 64,638 miles and I believe this is the original mileage. The car runs and drives very nice. It has mostly original paint. The only repaint has been to the hood from the side stripes up. The side stripes are the original. All the glass is original. There is no rust in this car and the floor pans look as good as the top of the car. The undercarriage looks very nice with just road grime but has no rust. This is the most rust free Triumph Spitfire I have seen. There is a small dent on the drivers rear quarter below the bumper that is mostly hidden from view. There are a few dents and dings but overall the paint looks very nice. The top is in very nice condition and functions great. The interior is in really nice condition. The original targa cover and top down cover are in very nice condition and dated 1978. The tires look new with full tread left. I recently installed a new battery and alternator. The transmission shifts into all gears and has no issues. The engine pulls strong in all gears and has no misses or smoke. All the gauges work along with the Lights, Turn Signals, Brakes, Speedometer, Odometer, Tachometer, Windshield Wipers, Heater and Radio. The horn works but is not very loud. The Clutch works in all gears but chatters when starting off in first gear. I was told by a mechanic the flywheel would need to be resurfaced to stop the chatter. I am used to it and can start off fine but someone not used to a manual may have a hard time. As with all old cars there is no warranty. The Title is clear and in my name. You can reach me at 662-816-8280 with any questions about the car. My name is Mike. I encourage anyone interested to look at the car or have someone look at it for you. It is stored at my house and I have jacks so the underside of the car can be viewed. I have a very low reserve and the car will sell. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of auction end and the remaining balance is required within 7 days of auction end. I will accept cash or bank wire transfer.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
