WEBB MOTORS INC, one of the oldest British Car dealerships in America, was founded in 1949. The company, located in Roanoke, Va. is still owned by one of the original principals and has operated out of the same location since 1957.
Over the years, Webb Motors has held new vehicle franchises for BMC, Rootes Group, Rover, and most recently Triumph until their demise in 1984. In addition to the car lines, the company sold and specialized in British motorcycles. During it's tenure in business a great variety of used British vehicles have passed through the doors. Sales have not only been limited to the more familiar marques such as MG, Austin Healey, Triumph etc, but have included other classics as diverse as Alvis, Aston Martin, Bentley, HRG, Lotus, Jaguar, Morgan, Turner, Westfield and many others.
The company has a small Service Department, but the knowledge and experience of the Service Manager and personnel is second to none. Webb Motors does not operate out of a modern facility, rather it represents the epitome of the era in which it was founded.
There have been articles written about the Webb Motors over the years but the most notable is the cover page and article of it in the December 2010 edition of The Vintage Triumph Magazine denoting it as the "Time Warp Dealership". A visit to this dealership truly is a warp back in time when the aforementioned British Classics were making their debut and taking a foot hold in America.
Now to this auctions featured Classic:
For auction is a 1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with overdrive. The car is a factory color, Vermillion Red (most people would say orange). The original cloth insert seats have been redone with more durable and traditional vinyl upholstery. The car has overdrive as it came from the factory.
When we were a Triumph dealer, our owner purchased this car as an overseas delivery from the Triumph factory. He used it to tour Europe, while carefully breaking the car in, prior to shipping it back to the dealership for sale.
This car was sold locally, and we have serviced it continually since then. The previous owner traded the car in, and we now offer it for resale. Everything works, no known issues, the car is an excellent driver, and overdrive makes it a pleasure on the highway. If you want a small British sports car, then this may be the one for you.
Our dealership is open Mon.-Fri, from 9:00 to 5:00. Any interested parties are welcome to come and see it in person or call for other arrangements..
All shipping cost are the responsibility of the winning bidder.
I have this classic for sale locally so reserve the right to end auction early.
A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is required within 48 hours of end of auction. The remainder of sale price is due within 7 days of end of auction. Car is to be collected within 2 weeks of confirmed payment.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
