This is a 1974 Triumph spitfire that has 16,610 original miles on it! I got it from my dad last November after returning home from 5 years in the Marines and it was in pretty rough shape. I did a light off-frame restoration on it meaning i cleaned the frame and stripped, primed, and painted the front half of the frame. Tore the front end completely apart and painted. The engine has new bearings, rings, seals, and gaskets but i did not modify it in any way. I cant even think of all the new items on it including mods to make it more reliable. New paint, new top, new MB Seven racing wheels, new tires, new custom fabricated wheel adapters, new security lugs all round, halo HD crystal headlights, ignition module, more than I can remember. Runs and drives like a dream! I left the original manual choke on it but converted the manual washer pump to electric due to them failing on me in the past. After i took the pictures i noticed i didn't have the the rear view mirror or visors installed but they are now also, the Monza exhaust IS NOT held up by rope! lol i forgot to cut it off after mounting it but its gone now. This car is not perfect but dang close! I do not have the title to it but the state of AL only requires a bill of sale on a car of this age but i will help in any way to help you get a title if needed. As far as we know, this is a one owner car last registered in 1984 but i have not registered it in my name so you will be the second registered owner. I can deliver for $0.75 per mile if requested. Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
