1972 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE

NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!

Up for your bidding consideration is this 1972 Triumph Spitfire in the beautiful yellow on black color combination.  This rust free example is in excellent to very good condition throughout.  It drives great and has a surprisingly roomy cabin for being a small classic British roadster.  The engine is original and is the 1296cc 4cyl Triumph motor and it is mated to a 4 speed transmission.  The interior is very nice as is the exterior.  It has (4) brand new tires mounted on beautiful black spoked wheels that contrast with the yellow paint very well.  The top has a cut that you can see in the pictures but otherwise it is exceptional.  The glass, the wheels, tires, paint, interior, soft top, the chromework all is very nice for a 42 year old vehicle.  Also, the original wheels (see picture) are included.  This timeless design was the masterwork of Giovanni Michelotti.  The 1972 models were particularly nice with the streamlined bumpers as the later models came with ungainly crash impact black bumpers. With spring coming on March 20 we will soon be out of the cold and enjoying our cars again and taking our tops down for pure motoring pleasure.  This is a great opportunity to buy a vintage roadster with this no reserve auction in place.

Please e-mail me with any questions on the Spitfire and I will quickly respond.  Also a pre-purchase inspection is available most anytime... just e-mail for an appointment.  Winning bidder is to pay in full within (3) three days of winning the auction.  Cashiers check, bank-wire, personal check (must clear first), or cash in person are all acceptable methods for payment.  If the winner wishes to use a transport company or a trailer for delivery I will be happy to be available to the driver to expedite a timely transfer.  I will also keep the Triumph inside my enclosed garage for up to 30 days while shipping arrangements are being made..

The vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.  Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type.  It is the responsiblity of the buyer to have satisfied himself/herself as to the condition of the vehicle.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
