Up for auction is my Triumph Spitfire.

I've had her a number of years and I've had a knocking sound coming from the back all the time I've had her.

I've replaced the differential, axle shafts, joints, wheel bearings, drive shaft unions and the noise is still there.

She's a lovely little car, not showroom, just this bloody knocking noise lets it down.

She needs a new mechanic owner to sort that noise out, then she'll be a great car.

Mileage isn't exact. Previous owner did a dash replacement to wood, should be plastic, and changed the dials. Hazards have never worked.

Over the last few years I've done the following:

Horns, although the switch itself on the steering wheel doesn't work
Fitted an electric fan
Fitted a new radiator
New cam chain and tensioner
New piston rings and bearings, including gaskets
New brake master cylinder
New clutch master cylinder
New clutch slave cylinder
New clutch
New header pipes
New Monroe pace setter exhaust, a little loud
Replaced differential
New axle shafts and joints
Drive shaft joints
New Weber down draft carb
Electronic ignition.

Selling with No Reserve because the knocking noise has now got the better of me.

I've only just replaced the axle shafts thinking that would fix the noise, but no. The Intension was to fix the knocking and sell her for at least $5k

But I am a realist and understand that I can't do that with the knocking noise.

So if you are a mechanic, you may have it fixed it a heart beat, but it's beyond me.

Buyer Collects, bring a flat bed. Remember the knocking. Situated in Plainfield Illinois

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
