1971 Triumph Spitfire Mk Iv on 2040-cars
Rapid City, South Dakota, United States
I purchased this car two years ago for my son and I to work and play. We had fun, but now he's heading to college and is selling his car to help fund his schooling. Below are some of the highlights and work we have done:
Strong Engine Sound Body (minimal rust) Good Tires & Spare Replaced the Lucas alternator with a 65W Delco Installed a new radiator/hoses Overhauled gearbox (replaced syncho gear, speedo gear, and shift fork) Overhauled clutch master cylinder New clutch slave cylinder Installed fiberglass transmission tunnel New head gasket, and other gaskets 4-to 1 Exhaust Header Replaced Marker Lights Straight-thru muffler New wiper blades/washer motor A perfect car for enjoying the Black Hills or every day driving (except perhaps when we get those monster snow storms now and then). Or, for the restoration enthusiast, there is much more that can be done. The buyer is responsible for transport of the vehicle. The car is in fine working condition and can be driven away. Please feel free to contact me if you wish to make any other arrangements. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
