1970 Triumph Spitfire Mark 3 Mk3 Mkiii No Title Hardtop For Parts / Restoration on 2040-cars
Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, United States
1970 Triumph Spitfire MK3 Mark 3. Speedometer says 52862 miles; I don't have the title but I believe this to be the actual mileage. This Spitfire sat in a garage hanger in New Jersey for 30 years before I picked up. It has sat in my garage ever since. Motor is complete and turns freely. I took off the Stromberg intake and carb, but I have it. I have never tried to start it. I was going to restore it, but the person I got it from never came through with the title. I think that the car could be restored; I have the guy's contact info to get the title. It was originally a Primrose Yellow car; but the guy went all in with the green you see in the pictures.
It certainly has a lot of great parts, including a factory hardtop with good glass. The headliner is even there, but it has a stain on it. The bonnet is in great shape; there is actually minimal rust on the car; the passenger sill will need to be replaced. The windshield is in good shape but as you can expect for a car that didn't move for 32 years, the rubber glazing is shot. Even though I don't have the title, I wanted to list it under the complete cars section; that is why I listed the title the way that I did. There will be a $250 non-refundable deposit due at the end of the auction. Please, only cash in person or cashier's check. No personal checks will be accepted. Paypal OK for deposit. Please email if you want to see the car; it is located 10 miles north of Allentown, PA. Thanks for bidding and good luck. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
