Bought this Spitfire four years ago and love it!  It has run perfectly every spring and, once brake calipers and some initial work were done, has run great without issues.  We are buying a home with less storage and I think selling the car is the best move.

The paint is not original.  It is also not a perfect paint job.  There are several bubble spots.  I can see where the prep work with a sander was done in places.  The top of the hood has a split in the pain where it looks like a bubble had formed and the paint split (will include a photo of this).  And I and my kids have put our share of scratches in the surface of the unit.

The rust condition is pretty good.  You can see that the rocker panels are clear in the photos I am including.  The floor pan on the drivers side has a few holes in it when you pull up the carpet.  The passenger's side floor pan has been replaced with a fiberglass overlay.  I will include photos of the underside as best as I show it in photos.  But overall, the car does not seem to be cancerous with rust.  Any rust I have seen is surface rust, except for the floor pan.  This car has been stored in my climate controlled garage for the past four years.  I bought it in Indiana from a collector in Indiana who had kept it stored with other cars.  Not sure who owned it before him or who restored it.

Leaks minimal oil (it IS Brittish, so it does leak some - probably a four tablespoons per year onto my shop floor).  There is a short in the lighting system.  Brake lights, head lights, turn signal all work.  But the rear running lights do not.  There is a short or a disconnection somewhere and I cannot find it.

I didn't raise the roof for the pictures, but it is a beautiful black canvas.  I put it up while storing it in winter to keep it stretched out.  But I almost never drive with it up.  We just use the car for day trips when we know the weather is going to be good (for the most part).

I respect the fact that buying cars from online photos is tough.  So if the winning bidder comes to pick up the car and then rejects the car due to being , I respect that.  But do not think that I'll renegotiate.  You can take the car at the bid price or not, and I will be fine with keeping this car.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
