1965 Triumph Spitfire Base 1.1l on 2040-cars
Pleasant Hill, California, United States
PROS: Restored 1965 Triumph Spitfire. Classic British Sports car; runs great. Turns heads every time it hits the road. Vehicle has never been in an accident. Restoration includes: complete paint (5 years ago---always garaged---still glows), exhaust, suspension & struts, tires & wheels, upper end engine rebuild, cooling system, chrome refurbished, starter, electronic ignition (no points needed), distributor, battery, brakes + many details added (such as wood dash and chrome valve cover). It comes with factory convertible top, car cover, luggage rack and classic plates. Hate to part with this beauty, but interests/work prevent me from taking it out for drives. Would love to see someone else enjoy this iconic classic vehicle as much as I have. CONS: minor electrical on front park lights, tachometer not working, front driver's seat needs bolstering, minor chips on paint, small crack in windshield, windshield washer system not working, no radio but speakers are ready. OVERALL: vehicle runs and drives beautifully. History: I have owned the car for 8 years. Prior to me, the car was garaged for over twenty years and non-operational. I purchased the car with 52K original miles. The car has had less than 10K put on it in 8 years. Car is being sold "As is" and does not come with a warranty Shipping & Payment: Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping. Payment Methods Accepted: Cashier's Check (certified from US Bank) or Cash (in person) Full Payment required within 7 days of auction close. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
