1964 Vintage Triumph Spitfire Racecar, on 2040-cars
Hamilton, Illinois, United States
selling this rare 1964 triumph spitfire race car,has been used as a racecar for just a few years, and stored in temp controlled and very dry building, had carbs cleaned last fall ,as well as the tank and lines, just before putting up for the winter, will run and drive ,will need a little attention to rear brakes, sticking,i think bad wheel cylinders,i do have a windsheild and some other parts to make back to a street car again.drove last fall to storage and ran great, good front brakes, stifted fine, tires are from the early 70's,may need replacing.clear title.have 2 57 chevy's on here for sale also, see my other adds..
On Apr-13-14 at 12:03:11 PDT, seller added the following information: looked at the vin number and it is FC25566L and there are no numbers on the block, had to have a friend check it out, didn't know where any of that was.he said with no numbers on the block it most likely had the block decked.he said it is the correct engine for the car..he also told me that it had the factory carbs, but had a exhaust header added.. i hope this helps.. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
