ok, here we go with round 2 on eBay. This time, I've started the auction at a low price with NO RESERVE.
Winning bid buys the car, period. (Attn: Flakes from last time, PLEASE don't bid unless you intend to follow through).

CLEAR TITLE, registered NON OP. This has been the most fun performance build I've done.
31308 on the odometer, approximately 6k on built motor.

357 whp on pump gas with water/meth injection. The car is very fast and reliable.
Two maps are programmed: 14psi (no water/meth) and 24 psi (enables water/meth injection), on a dash switch.

Will need to be smogged or not, depending on your state. That will be your responsibility. (No cats, probably will not pass without some "effort".)

The following interior parts are not present:
Rear seats, Audio, spare tire, headliner, pillar trims, audio components including speakers.
Carpet is included but separate along with most of the rear interior trim pieces.
I will probably find quite a few things (stock parts and otherwise) to include with the purchase -- buyer's choice to take or not.

Door locks are manual now. Power windows. Heater works, AC is deleted.

Straight car, never been in an accident.

***Paint/Exterior -- there is some chipping etc. as the car was used at the track. Please don't expect a show car paint job. Carbon liftback has some holes from spoilers/wings.

The car has a modest reserve considering how rare it is and all of the extra bits that go with the car. I will not disclose the reserve and the auction will
not end early. I'm going to let the auction run and see what happens.  The car is being sold AS IS with no warranty written or implied. I have sold
numerous cars on Ebay and locally and have always had happy customers. I try to be honest in the description of the cars and would
rather the transaction not have any surprises. Please ask any questions you like before you bid! This car is going to sell and we do not want
to deal with any bidders that back out after the auction is over. I had a hard enough time making the decision to sell so I would like the process to go smoothly for all parties involved.

$500 Deposit required within 24 hours of the close of the auction
Balance DUE within one week or you lose your deposit.

Car must be picked up within 14 days of the close of the auction. I can help you with transport, with your trailer, etc.

Here is the mod list. There are probably some details I'm leaving out. ASK QUESTIONS!

Evo pits Toyota GT86 vs. Mazda MX-5 Miata

Tue, Sep 8 2015

The latest Deadly Rivals episode from Evo gets the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Toyota GT86 (our Scion FR-S) on track for a shakedown and a whole lot of drifting with Dan Prosser behind the wheel. The UK-spec coupes have slightly different power ratings than ours, but it's all close enough to be comparable. Their Miata has 158 horsepower (ours has 155), 148 pound-feet of torque, takes 7.3 seconds to run from naught to 60 62, and costs 22,695 pounds. The GT86, on the other hand, lists a 7.6-second dash to 60 62, and a base price of 25,000 pounds. The GT86 also weighs 400 pounds more than the Mazda. That's true in the States, too – curb weight for our MX-5 is 2,332 pounds, whereas the Scion FR-S comes in at 2,758 pounds. Both cars lauded for excellent shifting, but one of them has a better front end, a sweeter engine note, more controllable cornering behavior, and is faster by a tenth of a second around the test track. And Prosser doesn't mention it, but one has a lot more body roll. But it takes more than all that to make a winner, so check out the video above to see which is which. Weekly Recap: Toyota wants cars to be your 'close friends' around 2020

Sat, Oct 10 2015

Toyota confirmed plans this week to launch autonomous technology in its production cars around 2020. The automaker's version is called Highway Teammate, and it's one element of a broader mobility strategy that includes vehicles communicating with each other and the grid. "Toyota believes that interactions between drivers and cars should mirror those between close friends who share a common purpose, sometimes watching over each other and sometimes helping each other out," the company said in a statement. That sounds utopian, and perhaps a bit cheesy, but it's an acknowledgment that autonomous driving requires more than technology developed in a vacuum. Toyota is looking at its research in a broader context, and dubs its overall strategy the Mobility Teammate Concept. Highway Teammate is the first step. Its test vehicle is a modified Lexus GS, which uses road-mapping data and external sensors to merge or exit highways, change lanes, and maintain safe distances during driving. It's operated on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo. Toyota has been working on autonomous tech since the 1990s, with the goal of providing mobility for older people and the disabled, as well as lowering the frequency of traffic accidents. Toyota's push comes as an early adopter, Nissan, is hedging on its own deadline to implement the autonomous tech by 2020 due to a lack of firm laws governing self-driving cars around the world. Conversely, Volvo took the landmark step of being the first automaker to accept liability for when its cars will operate in autonomous mode, and urged the US government to set federal guidelines to regulate the technology. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 BMW M4 GTS: Your water-injected, turbo-boosted demon BMW is unleashing its most powerful M4 ever, a 493-horsepower special edition that's road legal yet bred for the track. The company is making 700 copies for sale around the world, and 300 of them will come to the United States. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder revs to 7,600 rpm and uses a water-injection technology to cool the intake air and lower the compression temperature. BMW says this allows it to wring more power out of the inline six. The car also uses carbon-fiber reinforced plastic for the roof, hood, engine compartment strut brace, drive shaft, and rear spoiler to reduce weight. The M4 features BMW's organic light-emitting diode taillights, which are said to be an industry first.

Japan's government gives hydrogen vehicles a big boost

Tue, Jun 3 2014

The Japanese government is really paving the way for hydrogen fuel cell technology on its roads. Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry is changing regulations on fuel tanks to make hydrogen cars more appealing to drivers, which should help put the country ahead of others in the race to develop a viable H2 fleet. Japan is raising the allowed pressure of hydrogen tanks from 700 atmospheres to 875, which has the effect of increasing driving range by 20 percent. This move puts the country in line with others with high-pressure fueling regulations. Japan is also in talks with the United Nations and the European Union to streamline inspection rules to make it easier to export Japan's fuel-cell vehicles. Toyota premiered its hydrogen-powered FCV Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show last year and plans to release a production version as early as next year. Honda also plans to build its own fuel-cell cars for 2015, and it debuted its FCEV Concept at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show. Nissan is sending mixed messages on hydrogen, both questioning the availability of a refueling infrastructure and working on developing the vehicles. In Japan, a relatively small country, increasing the range of fuel-cell vehicles makes creating a usable infrastructure a bit less daunting. Will hydrogen-fueled electric cars see the same sort of success as Toyota's Prius hybrid or battery-powered EVs? Only time will tell, but we can keep our fingers crossed that it will, and that the popularity spills over beyond Asia.
