My wife and I bought this 2011 Toyota Venza new with plans of not needing a third seat any longer. Well that didn't work out and we have recently bought a Toyota Sequoia which is the only reason for selling this car. We have not had any problems with the car and have really enjoyed driving it. All of the maintenance has been done by the local Toyota dealership. When we bought the car we got quite a few options that not all Venzas have. It has the push button start, power lift gate, panoramic sunroof (2 sunroofs, one in front and one in back), JBL sound system with Bluetooth and many more options, leather interior, Blizzard Pearl paint, backup camera, lower chrome door molding and window tint. Toyota unintended acceleration lawsuit settled for $16M
Mon, 08 Apr 2013Slowly, the many loose threads still dangling after the unintended acceleration issue Toyota faced a few years ago are being resolved. The Orange County District Attorney's office was believed to be the first DA's office to take Toyota to court, its suit alleging that Toyota knew its cars had defects and continued to sell them. The suit sought to "permanently enjoin Toyota from continued unlawful, unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices as it pertains to both consumers and competitors" and asked for $2,500 "for every violation of the Unfair Business Practices Act," plus costs.
That suit has now been settled, Toyota - without admitting fault or wrongdoing - agreeing to pay $16 million to the county. Half of the money will go to the Orange County Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership, another four million dollars to the OC DA's office to investigate economic crime, the remaining four million being used to pay for the case.
130,000 Toyota Tundra pickups recalled over airbag issue
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Toyota is announcing a recall for about 130,000 examples of the 2014 Tundra Tundra pickup in Crew-Max Cab and Double Cab configurations.
According to the company, the "garnish on the center pillars" inside the trucks might not have been installed correctly. If the vehicle were in an accident, the side curtain airbags could deploy in the wrong shape. Toyota says that it's not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this potential problem.
To fix the issue, the pickups will have their interior center pillars inspected, and if faulty, the pieces will be replaced. Obviously, this will be done at no cost to owners. Scroll down to read the full announcement.
