2011 Toyota Tundra Sr5 Double Cab 5.7 4x4 Trd Off Road 21,500 Miles on 2040-cars
Norman, Oklahoma, United States
Very clean 2011 Tundra SR5 with the 5.7 Flex V8, 4WD and the TRD package. Exterior is Silver Sky Metallic and the interior cloth is black. I bought this truck brand new and it currently has 21,500 miles. The truck stickered for $38,919. It has not been driven much and has always been parked in the garage. Factroy installed options include-- Tow Package with transmission and engine oil cooler, 4.30 rear axle and transmission temperature gauge, cold weather package that includes heavy duty battery and starter with de-icer grid with front and rear mudguards. MP3 player, XM radio with blue tooth and steering wheel radio controls. Heated power outside mirrors, back-up camera in the rear view mirror, the TRD package, which includes upgraded wheels and tires, skid plates and Bilstein shocks with TRD tuned suspension and a heavy duty alternator. Bucket seats with power drivers side, DRL's, power sliding rear window, spray on factory bedliner, window tint, predator black tube steps, and the vehicle shield package. I installed the bed rail tie down system and under rear seat storage box, Weathertech floor mats and a Toyota bug shield. The oil has been changed more than it should have been and I have all the paper work on the changes. I did have one VERY MINOR mishap. I barely bumped into a brick column and put a small dent in the front bumper. I had the front bumper replaced with a genuine Toyota bumper. This is a very nice and strong truck with some very minor scratches. |

GT Academy returns, and why Gran Turismo 6 demands a pedal/wheel setup
Fri, 18 Apr 2014The path to become a racing driver is a difficult one. It requires starting early, with karts, and then building up through the years and if you're really, really good (and really, really lucky), a team will notice you and sign you up. Or, you know, you could just become really good at Gran Turismo, and beat out other like-minded fanatics for a seat in the GT Academy.
The racing school, which culls its students from the ranks of Gran Turismo players has already pumped out successful racers, most notably, Lucas Ordoñez, who has a second and third-place finish under his belt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the 2014 GT Academy kicking off April 21 and running through June 16, you could have a chance to be the next Ordoñez.
That won't be easy, though. We recently had a playthrough on GT6 the proper way - with a racing seat, pedals and a steering wheel, complete with column-mounted paddles. (Our setup looked just like the one you see above, though that image is from E3.) In other words, it was as close to driving an actual car as most console games can get.
Hi-po Toyota GT86 to get KERS?
Fri, 09 Nov 2012We happen to like the Toyota GT86 - and, it of course goes without saying that the same applies to the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S, as well - just the way it is. Yes, that includes the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine and its 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm.
That said, a little extra power never hurt anybody, right?
The most obvious way to add some punch to the GT86 would be with a turbocharger, and that has indeed long been rumored for an STI version of the BRZ. Will Toyota follow suit? According to Top Gear, the answer is no. Says GT86 chief engineer Tetsuya Tada, "I think 300bhp with a turbo and 200g/km of CO2 would be tasteless in this day and age. And a turbo would mean the loss of the GT86's uniqueness." Perhaps a bit harsh, but there you go.
TMG's super Lexus LS Sports 650 gets track tested
Thu, 05 Sep 2013The people at Toyota Motorsport GmbH have been responsible for the Japanese automaker's motorsports efforts since the 1970s, but since Toyota pulled out of Formula One after the 2009 season, the tuning shop has been developing a super sedan based on the Lexus LS called the Sports 650. Details on TMG's first road car have been scarce, but XCAR was recently invited to drive the 641-horsepower Lexus on track.
Here's what we know: the Sports 650 has enough power to sprint to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds, tops out at 199 mph, weighs over two tons and utilizes LFA brakes. Oh, and its twin-turbo V8 bellows like an AMG V8. That last part isn't surprising when considering TMG could become Toyota's in-house tuning arm - like AMG is to Mercedes-Benz. As for the bespoke body kit, fender flares and stacked exhaust pipes? They fit the car well and even remind us a bit of Lexus' other high-performance sedan, the IS F. Currently there are no plans for the Sports 650 to be made into a production car, but we doubt TMG is devoting this much effort developing the LS into a road-rocket for nothing.
Check out XCAR's video below to see the AMG-fighter wrung out on track, and then ponder what could be if TMG were let loose to fiddle with other cars in Lexus' lineup. Now that's something we could get used to!
