This pickup cranks, runs, and drives good. It has hardly any rust. Pretty banged-up and dirty though, especially the interior.
4x4 seems to work ok. Good tires. Doesn't smoke or use oil.The boy who had this before me had spent a ton of money on it; replaced the rear axle complete, replaced the shocks, brakes, and clutch. Has a lot of relatively minor stuff wrong; gauges don't work, with the exception of the gas gauge and the speedometer, runs the battery down if it's not cranked in a week or so, pretty bad coolant leak from the water neck area. I tightened the water neck bolts and had it stopped for a while, but it started again. When it warms up sometimes the idle "hunts" up and down. Interior is rough. Various oil drips underneath. In short, an old truck. Hard to find these not rusty. It's just too small for me to use on the farm, plus it's sprung too stiff and my boot catches on the bottom of the dash when changing gears, The exhaust is loud and the tires are noisy. Things that an old guy doesn't like, but my grandson loves it. I just had a NC safety inspection and replaced the emergency brake cable, which cost $200. plus. Clear NC title in my name. Obviously this is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty whatsoever. The only exception is if the buyer arrives and discovers a major mis-description. In that event I will refund the deposit no questions asked. Come and look at it and drive it if you wish, but there will be no whining after the auction is over. Please keep your expectations realistic. $500.00 is due by verified PayPal within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Verified means that the funds are in the account, and not supplied by a credit card. The balance may be by cash on arrival, or verified PayPal, or check. Any form of check or will hold the title and vehicle for 14 days, pending clearing. I have a good place to load here, if the buyer wants to trailer it or have it shipped. If you have low feedback (under 10) you must contact me before bidding. Otherwise your bid will be cancelled. |

Toyota previews next Lexus RX with Tokyo-bound JDM Harrier
Wed, 13 Nov 2013The Lexus RX shares much with the Toyota Highlander, but its more direct counterpart is the Toyota Harrrier. Never heard of it? That's because Toyota only sells it at home in Japan, and now it's revealed a new one. So if the Harrier is essentially a Toyota-badged version of the RX, then what's the big deal, you ask? The big deal is that the new Harrier which leaked in July, set to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next week and which you see here isn't quite the same as the Lexus, and those differences could (and in most cases likely will) make their way over to the RX as well.
For starters, the styling is different. Granted that the Lexus version will almost certainly get a spindle-shaped grille, but even so, the Harrier's nose seems to protrude further than the RX's and the headlamps are a notably different shape. The greenhouse is also a different shape, coming to a sharper point at the back, and the mirrors are fixed to the A-pillar not to the door panel. The taillamps are revised, the tailgate has a new profile and there's a pseudo-diffuser at the bottom of the rear bumper. Subtle changes, to be sure, but then Toyota and Lexus are known for their evolutionary approach to styling. The interior has apparently undergone some updates as well, with a more dynamically styled dashboard, a more symmetrical center stack and different seats, steering wheel, door panels... the works. The infotainment display screen has also moved further down from its position in the current RX.
Toyota will offer the new Harrier with a 2.0-liter four mated to a CVT and driving either the front wheels or all four, and a hybrid setup with a 2.5-liter married to a 140-hp electric motor. The RX is offered here with a 3.5-liter V6 either on its own or with an electric assist. We wouldn't expect Lexus to go swapping the larger engines for the smaller ones, at least not for the US market. There's plenty more to the Harrier, of course, than the similarities and differences to the Lexus RX, and if you're buying a premium crossover in Japan, you can delve into the full details in the press release below, together with the images in the gallery above.
Russians create Toyota Land Cruiser ice sculpture with full interior
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The Toyota Land Cruiser is a pretty hot model around the world. But it took the Russians to make it cool. We have few hard, cold facts and only small slivers of information about these photos, but it seems the icy Toyota was part of the International Snow & Ice Festival in Perm, Russia.
Artists took a huge chunk of ice and shaved it down to the temporary art installation you see here. The sub-zero SUV comes complete with a full interior accessed by the (permanently frozen open) driver's side door. The steering wheel and seats look to be upholstered in, well, dirt. With the back seats removed, the frigid four-door is a pretty slick ride in which to chill out.
Just a thought, but wouldn't a Toyota Tundra have been more appropriate? See the gallery for more photos.

Tue, 29 Jan 2013Giving Vanilla A Good Name
"Vanilla." Taken in modern context, that's not a compliment, but it should be. Vanilla actually has exotic origins, and as spices go, only saffron is more costly. Despite the realities, calling something "vanilla" is not whistling in admiration. The Toyota Camry has been called "vanilla" countless times since its debut, but both the car and the bean have something up their sleeves.
Scoff all you want, but vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor, and there is no mainstream sedan that outsells the Camry. Apparently, vanilla has an underlying tinge of filthy lucre. We didn't feel rich, exactly, wheeling around in the Camry Hybrid, but we came away impressed, nonetheless.
