Selling a 2008 Toyota Tacoma access cab pre-runner with 6 ft bed. It has the off-road package with the rugged trail additional option. The mileage is 57,300 with 80% of them being freeway miles.
I'm the original owner and used it mainly for hauling packages from Nor Cal to So Cal, but since I've settled into a office position, I have no need for it anymore. I have no kids, no pets, don't smoke, and I take care of my stuff like a responsible adult, especially this being my first car. I have only used gas from members of Top Tier Gasoline (Shell, Chevron, and 76) for my truck because the extra cleaning additive they put into their gas, and periodically feed it Techron. The truck have always been parked in a outside garage, you can tell by how the paint still shines after 5 years.
This truck in clean inside and out, in mint condition, never involved in any accident. It only have three very minor scratch that visible only when the truck need to be re-waxed. I replaced the front windshield and bumper with OEM Toyota parts due to little rocks from construction on freeway 101 hit them and scratched them. I have both clean Carfax and Autocheck report history printout along with major maintenance records. It also have Lo-Jack with early detection keys, but will need to be transferred to new owners through Lo-Jack once the truck sells.
Some highlights of the truck:
V6 4.0 Lt engine with automatic trans
2x4 rear-wheel drive with ABS and hill start assist
SR5+TRD Off Road package
Power doors, windows, outside mirrors, and manual sliding back window
Cruise control on steering wheel
AC and Heat
4 Brand New, OEM tires with less than 50miles on them, got records to prove it
16 inch black Baja-Toyota alloy wheels
Leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift
Real three prong plug for power in the bed
Full size new spare tire
Tow package and hitch
Lo-Jack with early detection keys

Scion reveals iM concept ahead of LA debut
Wed, 12 Nov 2014After dropping a teaser image on us a few weeks ago, Scion has revealed in full the new iM Concept it's bringing to the Los Angeles Auto Show next week. As expected, the concept is clearly a rebadged version of the Euro-market Toyota Auris, only with some "European Racing Circuit Styling" upgrades to make it look more aggressive.
Along with the Scion logos, the five-door hatch is treated to a deeper air dam flanked by angular vents with stacked fog lamps, beefed-up wheel arches linked by widened side sills and filled with 19-inch, anthracite-finish alloys on low-profile rubber. Vented brake discs and four-piston calipers join an adjustable suspension as show-worthy equipment upgrades.
The sporty treatment continues around back with a similarly aggressive rear bumper and roof spoiler. Even the wing mirrors are replaced with narrower units. Little wonder it's all done up in a shade Scion calls "incrediblue" that looks rather similar to what sister-brand Lexus would put on one of its F-branded performance models - or for that matter what corporate ally Subaru would put on an STI hot hatches like the WRX.
Toyota reaffirms commitment to body-on-frame SUVs
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Toyota sold 121,055 Highlander CUVs in 2012, according to Automotive News. By comparison, it sold 78,457 examples of four different body-on-frame, truck-based SUVs (4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Sequoia and Land Cruiser). One could argue then, that the traditional SUVs aren't pulling their weight from a sales perspective. Yet that isn't stopping Toyota from reaffirming its commitment to a segment that has seen its former champions - Ford, General Motors and Chrysler - abandon it with alarming speed. Ford and GM still offer body-on frame utilities, but only in the very largest offerings, catering to seven or even eight passengers. Everything outside of the Expedition or Tahoe rides now on a unibody.
Toyota's decision to stick with the technology is good news if you're in the market for smaller SUVs that are still capable of heading well off the beaten path. Outside of the Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee (a unibody) and perhaps Nissan Xterra, there's not much in terms of capable SUVs between $20,000 and $50,000. As the Toyota brand's US head, Bill Fay, says, "Clearly, the trend has shifted, but there is still an owner base that is interested in these vehicles."
We don't doubt Fay on that, but it may also be somewhat telling that Toyota's SUV lineup is aging, and we haven't seen or heard much about replacement models in the pipeline. Admittedly, the 4Runner (pictured) has been facelifted for 2014, but it's mostly cosmetic in nature. Despite Toyota's posturing, we still expect its body-on-frame lineup to thin in the coming years as sales dwindle and escalating fuel-economy standards make business cases even tougher. Here's hoping that Toyota manages to keep at least one rough-and-tumble SUV in its lineup in the coming years.
Toyota launches new Passo hatchback in Japan [w/video]
Fri, 18 Apr 2014With considerable manufacturing capacity here in the United States and even a NASCAR program, it'd be all too easy to categorize Toyota as an American automaker. Only it's not. It's Japanese, of course. And back in the Japanese Domestic Market, it offers a whole range of models we'll never see in North America. Models like the Crown sedan, Noah minivan and this, the new Passo hatchback.
Sold in various markets as the Daihatsu Boon, Daihatsu Sirion, Perodua Myvi and (for a time) the Subaru Justy, the Toyota Passo is a compact hatchback that slots in size-wise between the Yaris sold in America and the Aygo offered in Europe (except the Passo is taller than either).
Power comes from a 1.0-liter engine with 69 horsepower that can be had in front- or all-wheel drive, or a 1.3 driving 95 horses to the front wheels alone. A continuously variable transmission is on duty regardless of engine choice. Front-drive models get a stop/start system, but even all-wheel-drive versions are eligible for government tax credits. That's because, though the new Passo only appears to be mildly updated, the engines have been thoroughly reworked to deliver 30-percent better fuel economy than the previous model, coming in 20-percent better than the standards being enacted by the Japanese government for next year.
