TacomaHQ is proud to offer another immaculate, impossible to find, and Insanely Low Mileage 1999 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab 4x4.  It was just traded into a Mitsubishi dealership on a new car and we were able to purchase it right from them.  It has only had One Owner since brand new in 1999.  It has both clean Carfax and Autocheck Vehicle History Reports.  The truck has spent it's whole life in Rhode Island and was dealer maintained.  You absolutely do not find older Tacomas in this nice of condition or with this low mileage.
I have offered and sold 65+ 1995-2004 Tacomas on eBay in the past year.

The exterior is in phenomenal shape.  The Original "Black Metallic" paint shines absolutely great.  There are NO dents, dings, or scratches or whatsoever on the truck.  There is NO body rust on the truck whatsoever.  The entire undercarriage is very clean.  The rear end is beautiful and there are no leaks underneath anywhere.  The frame was inspected and then rust proofed by Fox Toyota in August of 2011.  The frame is absolutely 100% solid with no rust issues or perforation.  The alloy wheels are mint with no corrosion and the truck truly looks like a 14,000 mile truck.  The only negative about the entire truck inside and out, is most of the paint has started to show tiny little hatch marks.  I have provided one picture to help show this.  You absolutely cannot notice it at all, unless you are less than 5-6 inches away.

The interior is absolutely perfect.  The carpets, seats, dashboard, glass, and headliner are all in great shape.  There isn't any wear or tear to mention anywhere.  There aren't any smoke smells, burns, or marks inside.  All of the electronics are functioning properly.

This Toyota Tacoma has many nice features and options!

- 2.7L 4-Cylinder Engine

- 5-Speed Manual Transmission

- 4-Wheel-Drive

- Ice Cold Air Conditioning

- Cruise Control

- Am/FM/Cassette Player

- Tilt Steering

- Dual Airbags

- Alloy Wheels

- Sliding Rear Window

- Intermittent Wipers

- Soft Tonneau Cover

This Tacoma runs and drives perfect as you would expect.  Everything works as it should.  The 2.7L 4-Cylinder engine starts instantly and runs great.  The transmission shifts very nice and the clutch grabs strong.  The 4-wheel-drive and low range work exactly as they should.  The truck goes straight down the road with no shakes, rattles, or pulls.  There are no exhaust leaks.  The brakes stop great with no pulsations as well.  We had the truck on our lift and fully checked over every square inch of it.  The truck has Firestone Wilderness A/T tires that have about 80-95% tread remaining, have no air leaks, but are slightly dry-rotted from age.

I have 3 Keys, 4-piece floormat set, 1-owner clean CarFax report, the full size spare tire, jack, tools, and a clean/clear title.

China's largest dealer body pushes back against foreign automakers over huge inventories

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Do not think for a second that automakers forcing inventory on dealers in order to pad the numbers is a ruse known only in the US. Stories of individual brands have hinted at the trouble Chinese dealerships are having trying to move units as the country's economic growth remains hot but comes off the boil, like the one revealing that 95 percent of Toyota-FAW showrooms are losing money. Yet Toyota isn't the only culprit, and the issue has become so dire that the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), the largest dealer body in the country, has written to the government to complain. Chinese car sales are expected to close out the year with an annualized growth of six-percent, down from last year's 14 percent when targets were set, while in the background the pace of overall economic expansion is the slowest its been since the early nineties. Automakers, shipping cars on schedule to make their earlier targets, have blown up inventories such that they are an average of 1.8 times monthly sales, when the preferred multiplier is from 0.9 to 1.2. According to the CADA, the price wars and necessary incentives mean that only 30 percent of dealers are operating in the black. That number is down a whopping forty percent since 2010. In response, Toyota has already said it will not make its 2014 target of 1.1 million cars sold. We're a long way from 2012, when Toyota planned on selling 1.8 million cars in China in 2015, a target that's now as realistic as a manticore. BMW, Honda and Nissan have erased numbers on their spreadsheets, too; BMW growth dropped from 20 percent to 8 percent midyear after it began "reducing wholesale supplies," and Honda has been reworking its plans as sales have decreased each of the past six months. It's a big deal for Chinese dealers to begin protesting publicly, the CADA saying, "In the past, dealers were angry, but dared not speak out. But now, they have to shout because the situation is getting so unbearable." With six-percent growth forecast for next year and dealers unwilling to remain underwater, The Year of the Sheep coming in 2015 could portend meaning beyond the zodiac. Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.

Brand new cars are being sold with defective Takata airbags

Wed, Jun 1 2016

If you just bought a 2016 Audi TT, 2017 Audi R8, 2016–17 Mitsubishi i-MiEV, or 2016 Volkswagen CC, we have some unsettling news for you. A report provided to a US Senate committee that oversees the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and reported on by Automotive News claims these vehicles were sold with defective Takata airbags. And it gets worse. Toyota and FCA are called out in the report for continuing to build vehicles that will need to be recalled down the line for the same issue. That's not all. The report also states that of the airbags that have been replaced already in the Takata recall campaign, 2.1 million will need to eventually be replaced again. They don't have the drying agent that prevents the degradation of the ammonium nitrate, which can lead to explosions that can destroy the airbag housing and propel metal fragments at occupants. So these airbags are out there already. We're not done yet. There's also a stockpile of about 580,000 airbags waiting to be installed in cars coming in to have their defective airbags replaced. These 580k airbags also don't have the drying agent. They'll need to be replaced down the road, too. A new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time. If all this has you spinning around in a frustrated, agitated mess, there's a silver lining that is better than it sounds. So take a breath, run your fingers through your hair, and read on. Our best evidence right now demonstrates that defective Takata airbags – those without the drying agent that prevents humidity from degrading the ammonium nitrate propellant – aren't dangerous yet. It takes a long period of time combined with high humidity for them to reach the point where they can rupture their housing and cause serious injury. It's a matter of years, not days. So a new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time – and six years seems to be about as early as the degradation happens in the worst possible scenario. All this is small comfort for the millions of people who just realized their brand-new car has a time bomb installed in the wheel or dashboard, or the owners who waited patiently to have their airbags replaced only to discover that the new airbag is probably defective in the same way (although newer and safer!) as the old one.
