1999 Toyota Tacoma Dlx Standard Cab 2.7 4cyl 5 Spd 4x4 Ac 93k Arb Air Locker on 2040-cars
Ramona, California, United States
From a fine San Diego estate...1999 Toyota Tacoma DLX Standard Cab....93,500 verifiable actual miles.....2.7 liter 4 cylinder.....5 speed manual transmission.....4x4....WITH ARB AIR-LOCKER REAR DIFFERENTIAL WITH ONBOARD ARB AIR COMPRESSOR......AISIN LOCKOUT FRONT HUBS......COMPRESSED AIR LOAD LEVELERS.......ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING........CLARION SINGLE DISC AM-FM PLAYER WITH REMOVABLE FRONT SECURITY PANEL. A new MAGNA-FLOW exhaust system has also been installed and the truck also has a NEW Battery.....Seats have been covered since the truck was new. Truck has power steering and cruise control. TIRES are 90% tread and spare is matched and never used. In case your not familiar with the high end off-road upgrades they were about $3000 installed (professionally)
Deceased owner basically used the truck for camping and hunting. Had a special camper which extended 12 inches past the end of the box and a popup top. As a result, there is no rear bumper and no tailgate at present. Considering all the positive things about this truck I believe this is a minor issue. I will certainly help to find those parts for whoever wins this auction and trust me I have been shopping around for those parts. The paint is original and the body parts are also original with no damage other than a few minor dings and dents. The windshield has some chips and the side and rear windows have been tinted. I wanted to get this posted and do some cleanup to the truck then add some more pictures. We have been selling on ebay since 1998 with 100% positive feedback and would very much like to keep it that way. Bidding to begin at $1.00 with no reserve on a 10 day auction. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of auction and I would prefer NO PAYPAL....not a good method for vehicle transactions. Please inspect vehicle in 48 and 72 hours after auction and finish transaction. The certificate of title is in my safe and a photo of it is included in this post. We will be responsible for smog certification and buyer is responsible for CA DMV transfer fees. New registration renewel date is 2/28/14 which buyer will also be responsible for. This truck is running like a watch, has only been driven about 520 miles per month since 1999. *******We cannot imply or offer any kind of warranty******** I would welcome any questions. (760) 788-0775 Don Please call. don't text. Thank you for looking!! |

Toyota's Bob Carter says far fewer stations needed in shift from gas to hydrogen
Thu, Feb 6 2014Toyota's Bob Carter has been talking about green cars for years, but it's only been recently that his comments have really caught widespread attention thanks to his disparaging remarks about electric vehicle supporters like Elon Musk and Carlos Ghosn and optimism about hydrogen. Speaking at the opening of the Chicago Auto Show this morning, Carter said that Toyota has claimed the "pole position on CAFE," thanks to its deep hybrid bench. The company's green car cred will continue to grow because of its upcoming hydrogen fuel cell car, due out next year. Carter is relentlessly optimistic: "I truly believe fuel cells will fundamentally change how we feel about transportation," he said. The reason, Carter said, is that a hydrogen infrastructure will be easier to install than people think. He referenced a study conducted by the University of California (which we've heard about before) that found that California would only need 68 hydrogen stations to refuel the roughly 10,000 H2 vehicles that Toyota hopes to sell in by 2016 or so. That's a lot more than the nine that exist today, but the state has already approved funding for 20 new stations by 2015 and then up to 100 by 2024. Then he said this: "If every vehicle in California ran on hydrogen, we could meet refueling logistics with only 15 percent of the nearly 10,000 gasoline stations currently operating in the state." "We could meet refueling logistics with only 15 percent of gasoline stations currently operating in CA" - Bob Carter This made us wonder: if the refueling time and range are roughly equivalent between hydrogen and gasoline – Toyota's hydrogen car is supposed to be able to go 300 miles on a five-minute fill-up - then why has the market decided that there should be 10,000 gas stations in California and why would 1,500 be sufficient for hydrogen? "If the locations are optimized," he said, "we don't need 10,000 stations." For example, at major intersections, instead of three gas stations, you'd really just need a single hydrogen one. "There are a lot of questions about the infrastructure, but it's coming. ... It's a hurdle that we've got to climb but it's not as steep as some may imagine." Toyota's Mike Michaels, the national manager, media and public affairs at Toyota Motor Sales, then stepped in to point out that there are gas stations closing and admitted that there might be too many gas stations in California.
Scion xB death sentence uncertain, minor updates announced
Mon, 10 Dec 2012The last time we discussed the Scion xB and xD, in April of this year, it was to announce a report that both models were being killed. The vice president of the brand had said, "We don't have plans for a direct xB or xD replacement," but no date was given for the termination. Turns out rumors of their deaths have been greatly exaggerated: as part of a Toyota press release that summarized feature and pricing changes for 2013, the Scion xB was included.
The 2013 hatchback (above) gets a new front bumper and lower fascia with LED lighting, and the rear end gets a black diffuser. Stingray Metallic and Elusive Blue Metallic exterior hues will disappear, Absolutely Red and Nautical Blue Metallic will take their places. Inside will be light bronze metallic and chrome accents, as well as new seat fabric and the availability of the BeSpoke Premium Audio. It increases in price by $500, the manual costing $16,800, the automatic $17,750.
The xD (inset) has been left off the list and the Scion website it still hawking the 2012 car. But 2013 xD pricing and new features were announced earlier this year, the MSRP rising by $125 to $16,500. New equipment and options includes smoked headlight covers, more airbags and a two-tone paint job.
How the demise of Lincoln's Town Car has kick-started a limo revolution
Sun, 30 Dec 2012The deaths of the Ford Crown Victoria and the Lincoln Town Car have meant overhauls of three high-profile American fleets: police, taxi and livery car. Just as police fleets are more open to considering other options and a Nissan van is the new face of the NYC taxi, livery car companies are looking at replacements for the Town Car beyond The Blue Oval. Ford, via Lincoln, has made an MKT Town Car (pictured), but an article in the Detroit News claims "it has failed to win over most of the big limousine companies." The upstarts trying to move in include livery and limo editions of the Cadillac XTS, and livery specifications of the Toyota Avalon and Chrysler 300.
Each of those challengers, however, faces challenges. The Town Car was a workhorse, American, rear-wheel-drive sedan with plenty of rear legroom. Cadillac has been in the livery space before but with decontented models that were about selling the brand, not its luxury. It is taking the opposite approach with the XTS, pointing out that its livery edition is "contented in the upper half of the XTS range." Still, the CEO of Michigan's largest livery company says "it's quite a bit smaller than what we're used to," and he also prefers rear-wheel drive.
The Chrysler 300 is rear-wheel drive, and American, which matters to some companies, but Chrysler hasn't yet revealed the livery package for it. The livery Avalon marks Toyota's first time getting into that business in the US, a natural step after having done so well with taxi clients and with the Town Car out of the way. Still, the livery client is a different to taxi buyers, so the Avalon could face other soft-touch hurdles.
