1998 Toyota Tacoma

152,250 Miles

4 Cylinder/Manual Transmission

Up for sale is my 1998 Toyota Tacoma.  We purchased this vehicle locally in 2006 for my son.  When we purchased the vehicle it had approximately 80,000 miles. My son drove it until 2009 when he went to college.  I started driving it in August of 2009 and it has been my primary vehicle.  The vehicle was in a collision on 2008 and repaired by SouthLand Body shop.  This is a great running truck.  It was driven to Nashville TN this summer.  I would not hesitate to put it on the road.

I have taken it in for service every 5000 miles.  The AC compressor was replaced last year.  The tires are less than 2 years or 6000 miles.  The truck runs strong and has No Leaks and burns no oil.  The 4 cylinder engine gets great gas mileage.

It has several scratches and a couple of dents, but overall I think it looks good for a 1998.

KBB sets the private party range at $3,415.00 in Fair Condition and $3,847.00 in Good Condition.

I'm asking $3,200 CASH.  NO PAY PAL, NO TRADE IN'S, NO CHECKS and NO PROMISES OF FUTURE PAYMENTS.

The vehicle is being listed locally as well.

I will not ship.

Episode #317 of the Autoblog Podcast is here, and this week, Dan Roth, Jeff Ross and Michael Harley bookend the other podcast topics with a pair from the Montreal Auto Show, the Mitsubishi Mirage and Honda Gear concept, and in between we talk about Toyota building all its US-market cars stateside, Hyundai building a Nurburgring test facility, Sergio Marchionne's latest words about Alfa Romeo, Dodge Dart powertrains and the future of Chrysler vans. Some chatter about the Ford Atlas concept finishes up the meat of the 'cast and then we wrap with your questions. Watch this video diary of a 900-hp Toyota Supra build

Sat, 08 Jun 2013

If you've ever looked at a car with nearly 1,000 horsepower and wondered why anyone needs that amount of thrust, you may want to take a look at the video below. In it, one gentleman details his descent into Toyota Supra madness, starting with a pristine factory example and stumbling down the rabbit hole of modification. What makes this particular clip interesting is just how honest the owner is as he explains the evolution of his car. He doesn't just prattle off a list of parts like he's reading the menu at an IHOP.
Instead, he painstakingly pulls us through the car's growth, detailing each iteration and what pushed him to the next stage of the build every time. From this point of view, it looks less like someone walked into a shop and lit a massive stack of $100 bills on fire and more like a quasi-logical progression of events. Or at least it does to me. You can check out the build in the video below, complete with plenty of Fast and the Furious references and racing. Win, win, win.

Toyota casts off in Ponam-31 motor yacht [w/video]

Sun, 12 Oct 2014

Some Japanese automakers focus purely on cars, while others dabble in all sorts of motorized transportation. Honda, for example, makes everything from motorbikes to jet aircraft. But while Toyota may be known principally for automobiles, it also makes a line of boats. And this is the latest.
The new Toyota Ponam-31 motor yacht is built around an aluminum hull with a flybridge and cockpit rear deck layout, similar to the Carver 32 on which this writer spent his childhood summers. It measures 31 feet overall and is powered by a pair of 3.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engines derived from the Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX 460) but marinized for nautical application. Toyota has even equipped its new Sports Utility Cruiser with such features as Drive Assist and a Virtual Anchor System.
Toyota expects to sell around 15 units of the Ponam-31 through its network of 49 dealers across Japan, with prices starting at 29,700,000 yen (about $27,500 at today's conversion rates). Scroll down below for a video, along with a press release, meant to show potential customers what's waiting for them.
