This truck has a new custom paint job and interior in the Toyota Racing Development colors.  All work was professionally done with very good quality materials. It has a clear title and all the body panels are original except the front bumper cover was replaced.   The exterior white was painted with Nasons Full Thane acrylic urethane single stage. The Black, Red and Silver are Nasons Urethane Base coat Clear coat system. The body did not have any rust problems before paint.

The Interior is vinyl- silver, black with red trim to match exterior TRD colors .  Simulated black suede on sides of the bucket seats and door panels, makes entry to seats more comfortable .  It also has new black molded carpet and a new gray headliner.

Fab-Tech Suspension Kit, the front is adjustable.  I also have a Body Lift Kit not installed still in the box I will include

Also just replaced was the fan belt, spark plugs, plug wires, air filter, oil filter and oil.

It has just been registered and passed (CA) smog check no problem.  I am currently driving the truck every day to work and it runs and shifts great.

The Shell is a Snug Top but the back window is missing,  I have the hardware and may make a plexy glass one if I have time. A/C blows but is not cold.

$400.00 deposit due at close of auction and payment must clear before shipping.  Local Pick up is fine with me, we can do the transaction at a local bank.  I will not arrange shipping but I will do my part to make sure it gets picked up.

It also has an upgraded stereo system, Pioneer AM/FM CD player with remote and upgraded speakers

This truck is being sold locally and I reserve the right to remove the listing before it ends.

The Kelly Blue book in my area on this truck is Excellent condition (best) $7,705. and Fair condition (worst) $6,555 so I think that $5,500 is a good price but feel free to make a reasonable offer.

Also feel free to ask questions, I will try to promptly reply.

Thanks for looking!

Best cars for snow and ice in 2023 and 2024

Tue, Jan 23 2024

What's the best car for snow? The real answer is "the one with winter tires." What do we mean by that? You could have the finest, most advanced all-wheel-drive system or four-wheel drive in the world, but if you're running all-seasons (the spork of tires), your fancy four-wheeler won't matter much. The odds are, any vehicle on the road running good winter tires will probably perform adequately in slippery, slushy and/or snowy road conditions. (Here's a more complete explanation of why winter tires are totally worth it). In other words, you don't really need any of the cars on this list. With a set of winter tires, countless others will do the job, and even these will be at their best with proper rubber. You can find a variety of winter tires for your car here at Tire Rack. Keep in mind that you will need a full set of four snow tires for safety and performance, no matter what you're driving. The days of your dad putting just two snows on the family truckster to get it moving in a straight line are long gone. Don't get us wrong, getting a car that performs well in snow and ice is still a worthy criteria for car buyers. According to the U.S. Transportation Department, 70% of Americans live in places that get snow and ice. And much of the country has been blasted with arctic air for much of the new year. So let's look at the cars. First, we're highlighting choices for a variety of buyers and price points. Second, we're not just considering snow; we're considering general wintery conditions people will experience driving to work or school. As such, these are all choices with advanced all-wheel-drive systems, usually with "torque-vectoring" systems that not only automatically shunt power front and back, but side to side between the rear axles. Most have extra ground clearance for getting through deep snow, and we prefer those vehicles with more responsive steering, throttles and transmissions that provide a greater sense of vehicle control in slippery conditions.    Acura RDX Read our Acura RDX Review Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system was one of the first to offer torque-vectoring, and besides often being touted for its ability to greatly enhanced dry-road handling, its benefits in the slick stuff can be profound. It's actually surprising that Acura hasn't leaned into this capability further by offering more rugged versions of its vehicles.

Next-gen Toyota Tacoma mule caught towing in the desert

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

With the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon set to arrive in dealers in the near future, it's high time Toyota got to work on a replacement for the Tacoma, a vehicle whose present generation debuted in the middle of the Bush Administration. Now, we have images of that new pickup undergoing testing.
Our spy photographers picked up this heavily modified mule undergoing tow tests in the desert. It rides on a modified version of the current Taco's frame, as evidenced by shots of its undercarriage, although our spies cite the lack of riveted sections as indications that the current truck's footprint should remain unchanged.
Aside from underbody changes, this particular Tacoma featured a six-speed manual transmission, which we're expecting to be joined by a six-speed automatic. The current four- and five-speed autos found on the current truck will almost certainly be killed off. Marching to the grave with those slushboxes will be the two-door Regular Cab body style. Our spies are expecting Toyota to focus its efforts on the larger, more accessible Double Cab.

NHTSA releases updated Takata airbag recalled cars list, but it still has errors

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Unfortunately, the government's list still contains errors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an updated list of vehicle models that it's urging owners to repair under the mushrooming Takata airbag inflator recall. The latest version adds vehicles from new automakers like Subaru and Ford that are missing from the original announcement, and it also removes erroneous entries from General Motors, leaving only the 2005 Saab 9-2X (a reskinned Subaru WRX), and the 2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe, a joint project with Toyota.
