This pick up has been my daily driver since 1991. It has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. Anyway, I hate to sell but I am too old to do the repairs....
There is rust on the right side frame member at the front leaf spring hanger. See picture, I have stopped driving it before it breaks. That frame area needs extensive bracing
which I am not prepared to do. The rest of the frame appears fine other than surface rust. The truck bed is rusty also and has been repaired a couple of times, but the rust
never sleeps, so it needs attention also. The cab is fine other than small spots over the front wheels but it still has the original white paint.. Plus the truck still has the original
factory stripes on the hood and sides. You don't see that often.
Mechanically it is nice shape and run very well. Gets 19-22 mpg, Never been off road, mature driver, garaged since I've had it. Pampered like you wouldn't believe. Shifts perfect
no unusual noises, everything works, very nice glass, no accidents, ac works great and its R12, (never been charged from new) original turbo seats in very nice shape,Kenwood radio
that sounds great with remote, Polk and Sony speakers. Front end is perfect. Oil changed and greased every 1500 miles, all fluids changed yearly or sooner, 4wd works perfect.
I have kept records and the book is huge.
The truck is the turbo charged edition, they only made these two years,86-87. Might be collectable one day.
The engine was completely rebuilt in 2005 at the 205,00 mark, mainly because the head gaskit blew and water got in the crankcase. I went overboard and replaced everything
in there. I do mean everything. I have the reciepts and most of it was OEM Toyota parts. I can be more detailed with e-mails as the list is very extensive. Turbo charger was sent to
Turbo City and rebuilt, even the fuel injectors were rebuilt.
I do have a reserve on this truck because it has been so good to me that it will be difficult to see it go cheap. I will entertain offers. can send more pictures
If you can fix rust, this truck for you.
I also have a local ad running, so I reserve the right to end this auction early. thanks for looking.

Scion pondering move upmarket?
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Scion is simultaneously celebrating its ten-year anniversary with the 10 Series models and trying to figure out what to do with itself over the next ten years. Once a go-to consideration for young, first-time buyers who wanted something cool and different, in 2013 it has a model everyone is still talking about in the FR-S, a model few are still talking about in the iQ, and three models in between in the tC, xB and xD that make everyone wonder, "What happened?"
Automotive News spoke to Toyota's North American CEO, Jim Lentz - he was the VP in charge of Scion when it launched - about the options, and Lentz said one of them could be a move upmarket to challenge the established luxury brands that are moving downmarket. "There's going to be a big need in the $25,000 range for a fun-to-drive, nice-looking, value-oriented product," he said, and the FR-S, which starts at $25,255, could provide the platform for Scion to climb up a notch or two in price and perception. An idea like this could conceivably work in tandem with a proposal to move entry-level Scion products over to the Toyota brand - but remember, this is all just ideas on a whiteboard at the moment.
As opposed to an "entry-luxury fighter," the brand could swing back to the other option that was considered when it was formed, directly challenging the Korean makes that have usurped its cachet with first-time buyers. Lentz said Scion could go either way, and the tone of the piece seems to indicate that the final direction is still a ways away from being resolved.
Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads
Sun, May 31 2015Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed. Toyota nearing $1B settlement of unintended acceleration criminal probe
Sun, 09 Feb 2014According to those all-too-nebulous "people familiar with the matter," Toyota is close to a settlement with the US federal government to end a criminal probe over its long-running unintended acceleration fiasco. Though Toyota has never admitted guilt, the deal could reportedly crest a billion dollars and would likely include a criminal deferred prosecution agreement, and while we're not legal experts, The Wall Street Journal explains that such a deal would "[force Toyota] to accept responsibility while avoiding the potentially crippling consequences of federal criminal convictions."
The report from WSJ also suggests that Toyota is facing charges that it "made false or incomplete disclosures" to various government agencies regarding possible defects to its cars. Such charges may include mail and wire fraud violations. Toyota has already paid out fines totaling $66.2 million to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because it failed to report safety defects in a timely manner.
This deal with the federal government is not related to the billion-dollar class-action settlement reached with Toyota owners over falling vehicle values, and it's also different from the roughly 400 lawsuits still in courts alleging personal injury of wrongful death due to cases of unintended acceleration. In other words, don't expect to hear the end of such courtroom verdicts and settlements anytime soon...
