This Toyota 22re is truly a gem in the rough, I hate to see it go but am in the process of purchasing a FJ to start working on so I've started selling all of my trucks.  I originally bought this truck in Alabama and had it shipped to Arizona.  While here I had the Engine completely gone through and everything replaced with Toyota Factory Parts.  Everything  used in this is factory or Aisin for you fellow Toyota enthusiast out there.  All work was done by a certified Toyota mechanic and I have invested easily close to $5,000 dollars if not more in parts as well as labor if I could not get the parts locally I purchased them from 22re Performance.  It currently has a ProComp lift and sits on Master Craft 33's which are practically new mounted on Mickey Thompson wheels.  I also ordered a toughdawg adjustable torque rod to help improve the braking since the original owners cut it to put on the lift.  Toughdawg is an amazing company based out of Australia that specifically designs suspension and parts for hilux models for hard use.  The frame is straight, and the body is in excellent shape overall it is also has the solid axle which Toyota quit putting in there trucks.  It is a great rig that easily gives Jeeps a run for their money on the trails.  This truck was originally purchased for me to be able to hunt in the mountains of Northern Arizona and New Mexico due to its size and reliability.  All receipts for work done on this truck will come with the vehicle and were done within the last year.  The list of parts that have gone into the engine is way to long to list here but honestly everything has been replaced all the way down to factory bolts.  It only has 158000 miles on it which is light for these work horses.  With that being said it does have a small transmission leak which should be easily repaired with a new seal.  It also needs to have a new E Brake kit installed for the E Brake to work properly I ran the cable just did not get around to finishing the breaks. I have many photos of this truck so if you want to see more just ask and I will email.  Like I said I hate to see it go but I am starting a new project on a FJ.  On a side note the mileage may fluctuate after initial purchase due to the fact that this has been almost a daily driver for me for the last year.  Starts the first time everytime, drives smooth and easily gets up to 75 on the freeway.

This truck is sold as is with no existing warranty.

I also have it listed locally and reserve the right to end this auction at anytime if I sell it locally.

Toyota expands airbag recall to 2.27M vehicles worldwide

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

Was your Toyota inspected under the company's recall campaign for faulty airbag inflators last year? You might have another trip ahead to have it repaired again. The automotive giant says that it found "the involved serial numbers provided by the supplier were incomplete, and did not include all of the potentially involved inflators," according to its official announcement. That means more replacements are needed.
Toyota's April 2013 inflator recall covered the Corolla, Matrix and Tundra from the 2003 and 2004 model years, the Sequoia from 2002 to 2004 and the Lexus SC 430 from 2002 to 2004. At the time, the company said it would need to inspect about 510,000 vehicles in the US but only expected to replace around 170,000 inflators.
However, the latest announcement increases that figure to about 766,300 vehicles in the US. Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the new amount is the combination of owners who need to have their vehicle looked at again and those who didn't come in for the initial recall. The company learned about the problem when Takata, the supplier, provided it with an improved list of the faulty part's serial numbers. According to The Detroit News, the latest recall affects about 2.27 million vehicles from them worldwide. Knight said owners would receive notification of the problem around the end of the month but repairs would come in phases because the automaker doesn't have all of the necessary parts at the moment.

Toyota Expands Airbag Recall To 2.2 Million Vehicles Worldwide

Was your Toyota inspected under the company's recall campaign for faulty airbag inflators last year? You might have another trip ahead to have it repaired again. The automotive giant says that it found "the involved serial numbers provided by the supplier were incomplete, and did not include all of the potentially involved inflators," according to its official announcement. That means more replacements are needed. Toyota's April 2013 inflator recall covered the Corolla, Matrix and Tundra from the 2003 and 2004 model years, the Sequoia from 2002 to 2004 and the Lexus SC 430 from 2002 to 2004. According to The Detroit Free Press, the latest recall affects about 2.27 million vehicles from them worldwide. Knight said owners would receive notification of the problem around the end of the month but repairs would come in phases because the automaker doesn't have all of the necessary parts at the moment. The original problem occurred because the front passenger airbag inflator from Takata could have an improper propellant that could cause it to burst in an accident and not allow the airbag to deploy properly. Toyota inspected all the vehicles listed but only changed the inflators with specific serial numbers. Now, it's replacing them all. This wasn't just a problem for Toyota, though. Honda, Nissan and Mazda also used the faulty inflators and issued recalls at the same time. Autoblog has contacted the other Japanese automakers about whether similar campaigns are necessary for them. We will update this story, if we hear back from them. Scroll down to read Toyota's announcement. UPDATE: Honda spokesperson Jessica Howell sent along the following statement: Honda is aware that Toyota recently announced a recall of front passenger's airbag inflators. Honda is not aware of any incidents in our vehicles related to Toyota's action. We are currently investigating the potential implications to Honda vehicles.

Toyota Aygo stars in 'invisible driver' prank

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

We love a good automotive-themed prank. Rémi Gaillard remains a favorite, although maybe we should take a closer look at MagicOfRahat, another online prankster. Rahat, who has developed a bit of a reputation for blending in with car seats, giving the impression that there's no one behind the wheel, has taken his talents to Europe, in a new video for Toyota.
Dressed to look like the seat of the new Toyota Aygo, Rahat goes about town freaking out tollbooth operators, valets, fast food servers and even receiving a bit of unwanted attention from the police. The result is, as is usually the case with this prank, pretty darn amusing. We were kind of hoping he'd pop up and give his victims a fright, as he did in his Halloween video, but alas, that wasn't to be.
Take a look below for the full video.
