Toyota Supra Turbo Six Speed! on 2040-cars
Loris, South Carolina, United States
Up for sale I have a basically new car. This is a clean title true twin turbo six speed car. This Supra has been totally gone over from top to bottom and just about everything is new. The car started its life as a twin turbo six speed car and when I purchased it from the previous owner he had done some modifications but ended up spinning a rod bearing and did not have the money to fix it. So I purchased it, and completely tore it down, motor, interior, and exterior. I completely tore the motor down to the block and found the spun rod bearing. I replaced the crank and the connecting rod with the spun bearing, and the rings. All gaskets have been replaced from top to bottom, the head has been gone through, and anything that I felt should be replaced was. I also went ahead and re-did the entire exterior with a brand new OEM front bumper and driver fender that was damaged, added a RMM style front lip and re-sprayed the entire car it's original jet black color, then wet-sanded and buffed the whole car to a mirror like shine. I also treated the interior to some needed TLC as well. I dyed the original tan carpet black, refinished the dash panels to the newer 97/98 style, added a nice touch screen dvd/radio/cd player, and replaced the completely worn out seats with some out of my other supra that are in near mint condition. The car is running a single Precision PTE67 turbo with a full ETS setup from the manifold, piping and 5" intercooler. The car has been street tuned by Zach Hill from Hennessey Motorsports on wastegate spring at approx 19psi and pushing between 500-550 whp. The car literally has less than 500 miles on it since the complete overhaul and it is a thing of beauty. The car starts and runs great and pulls strong. All the electronics work like power seats, heat, A/C, power windows, locks, etc. I have another Supra project that I am working on and looking to sell this to help fund that project. Whoever gets this car will not be disappointed. The car is nearly flawless inside and out. I would rate the interior a 9/10 and the exterior a 9.5/10. there is one small flaw on the driver side door where when the buffing was being done I went a little too far and started to burn into the paint. I have included a pic of this. Is hardly noticeable but want to be as open and straight up as I can. The car has a fresh alignment and every fluid that is in the car has been replaced. I am going to try and list all that has been done to it from motor, to suspension, to exterior, and interior.

Toyota Hilux successor spotted
Mon, 15 Sep 2014The midsize truck segment is suddenly seemingly exploding with new vehicles worldwide, even here in North America. Not only will the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon be available very soon, Toyota is already testing a replacement for its aging Tacoma and Honda has promised a Ridgeline replacement within the next 18 months. Also, the recently shown Nissan Navara is said to portend the future of our Frontier. Here's some more fresh evidence from Europe of this pickup boom with the next generation of its venerable Hilux in testing.
Thanks to Top Gear and sometimes the evening news, the Hilux has built a reputation of being able to go just about anywhere. According to out spy shooter, this particular pickup was spotted during hot weather testing in southern Europe. Interestingly, a Volkswagen Amarok was along for the ride as a benchmark. Because the VW tends to offer a bit more comfort than the generally utilitarian Hilux, this could indicate Toyota is considering taking the new truck in a slightly comfier, more refined direction.
Compared to the current model, this camouflaged tester sports a narrower front grille and headlights. The hood scoop is also absent here. The lower air dam also receives a more horizontal look, but the more vertical fog light housings provide some contrast. The crazy camouflage pattern makes things hard to discern at the rear, but the taillights appear to be more slender than they on the current model. Unfortunately, mechanical details about the new truck remain a mystery at the moment, but enjoy these spy shots as a preview of one more upcoming pickup.
Lost power in a winter storm? Just hook up a Toyota Prius like this guy did
Thu, Jan 9 2014The Toyota Prius' battery pack just got something like a five-star rating from a truly seasoned professional – a 50-year aircraft technician. Bob Osemlak, who'd served more than three of those five decades with the Canadian Air Force, brought electricity back to his home in December during a heavy ice storm thanks to his gas-electric car. His ingenuity allowed him to turn on lights, furnace, refrigerator and the TV. The Thornhill, Ontario resident lost power for nearly a day on December 21 – not nearly as much as millions of other people hit by the recent storm - and so he still set about using his Prius for backup power, according to EV World. His ingenuity allowed him to turn on lights, furnace, refrigerator and the TV. Being an aircraft technician for so long brought Osemlak the ability to home-brew his V2H set-up that he urges other people to avoid, for safety reasons. He had planned for a potential power outage by installing an outlet on his furnace and, when the storm struck, he ran a cord through the basement window to the car. During the nine hours Osemlak used his Prius for backup power, the car's fuel gauge only reduced less than one bar, or roughly the equivalent of a gallon of gasoline. It wasn't the first time Osemlak had played with his vehicle. In the 1960s, while stationed in Winnepeg, Manitoba, he created a car starter. Every hour, the car would start up and run for 10 minutes to avoid being frozen solid in frigid winter temperatures. Ford predicts it will finish 2013 as top-selling US brand
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Ford is ready to call the ball on its 2013 sales totals, predicting a first-place finish for units sold in the US for a single brand. The company anticipates selling more than 2.4 million vehicles when all vehicle sales over the last 12 months have been tallied, repeating the victory it trumpeted over Toyota last year.
According to Ford's accounting, it sold 329,677 more vehicles than did Toyota in 2012. This year, the Blue Oval expects that margin to grow; through the end of November, Ford says it has outsold Toyota by 396,041 units.
Retail sales of Ford products are projected to exceed 1.7 million units for 2013 (the best retail result in 6 years for the company), with passenger cars accounting for 600k of that total. The redesigned Fusion is expected to crest the 290k mark, and the Fiesta is said to be ready to hit a model-record of 70k-plus. Meanwhile, utility vehicles and trucks are still paying a lot of bills in Dearborn, with the new Escape racking up an expected 300k sales and F-Series trucks chugging along at 688,810 units sold thru November.
