Up for sale is a beautiful 1998 Original Quicksilver Toyota Supra with Targa Top. This Quicksilver originally started life as a non turbo and was fully restored to a Factory Twin Turbo 6 speed supra, even down to brand new OEM engine and chassis harness. There are no leaks, no vibrations, no smoking. Transmission shifts perfectly with no grinds and clutch has smooth engagement. Compression test was done last week and all cylinders are between 160-163 psi, motor is very healthy. Air conditioning and heat work excellent. All electronics work like factory with no issues. Interior is great shape and is in better shape than would be expected for a 17 year old car. Leather is in great shape with no tears or scratches. The paint on the car is in excellent condition. The front of the car was resprayed to get rid of rock chips and a few scratches. At the same time the engine bay was completely resprayed and clear coated to look as clean as the outside of the car. This supra has all of the original paint besides what I had resprayed. All body panels still retain the original VIN stickers and has a 100 percent clean carfax with no accidents. There are only a few small nicks on the entire car. If you've been looking for an original 1998 quicksilver TT 6 speed you know how much they go for even in questionable condition. This is an original quicksilver supra that has converted to a complete Twin Turbo 6 speed with the majority of the parts being brand new Toyota. I recommend any serious buyers to come inspect the supra in person to see how clean it is. I will gladly do a compression test in front of serious buyers and put the car on the lift to do a complete inspection of the entire car. Toyota confirms i-Road electric trike for production
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The wacky, three-wheeled Toyota i-Road we saw in Geneva earlier this year will be heading to production. But before you run down to your local Toyota dealer looking for one of these all-electric "personal mobility" vehicles, chances are, you'll never actually see one unless you visit Japan.
Announced at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) expo last week, Toyota said that the i-Road would be used as a part of the Ha:Mo car-sharing system in Japan. Weighing in at around 661 pounds, with a 28-mile-per-hour top speed and a two-passenger seating arrangement, the i-Road seems more like a fully enclosed scooter than a car, but it does offer a 30-mile driving range and has a nifty articulating front suspension that leans into corners. As for Ha:Mo, Toyota says that the number of cars in the program will increase from 10 prior to October 1 to 100 by the middle of this month, and the number of stations will almost double from 13 up to 21. Japanese automakers kick in $800k for new charging-station company
Mon, Jun 2 2014Cynics may say that gathering $800,000 (total) from four of Japan's largest automakers is merely a rounding error. Still, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi, along with the Development Bank of Japan, are putting those funds to good use. So, that's something. Last week, those five entities officially founded Nippon Charge Service LLC. The company was established to promote plug-in vehicle charging installations across Japan and the automakers seeded it with 80 million yen, or about $786,000 US. Those funds will be used to help business owners deploy charging stations at convenience stores, highway-side locales and other locations that will make it easier for plug-in vehicle drivers (of Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis and Nissans, obviously) to get their juice. The automakers first announced they'd collaborate last year, when they said they'd work with the Japanese government to more than triple the country's publicly accessible chargers to about 17,000 units. No targets were disclosed as far as how many charging stations would be deployed this time out, but, in a move similar to the EZ Charge system in the US, Nippon Charge Service will also have universally-accepted charging cards available by the end of the year to drivers all of those brands' plug-in vehicles to make the charging process a little more seamless.
