Up for sale is my 1997 Anniversary Edition Original TT 6 Speed Targa Red/Tan Supra. I have owned the car for approximately 7 years and I am the 2nd owner of the car. Carfax states 3 owners, but owners 2 and 3 are me, title was transferred from my father’s name to me. I do not wish to sell, but our family is growing and it is time for me to get something with four doors. The car has always been garaged while in my possession and since my job requires me to travel every week, the car just sits at home in the garage and is rarely driven. The car currently has 147,xxx miles on the body. Car was converted to single turbo in 2008 and runs on the stock fuel system using the MAF. Car put down 514 rwhp @ 18 psi on 93 oct. Car runs perfect on the MAF and does not have any issues. Car starts right up and will pass emissions. I replaced the steering rack approximately 3 years ago with a brand new unit, due to a leak in the old system. I also had Toyota replace the front passenger wheel barring 2 years ago. Oil and Spark Plugs changed every 3k miles. Timing Belt replaced at 56k. Synthetic and Copper Plugs. New Rotors when wheel barring was replaced. Pads are 1 year old. Due to my traveling profession, in the past two years this car has seen less then 5k miles. The car runs off an 18 lb wastegate spring and has never been boosted past 18 psi. Tires are BFG KDW 265/35/18 and 295/35/18, approximately 35% tread left. Mickey Thompsons have 30-40% left. AC is ice cold. Never been smoked in.

Intercooler, exhaust, turbo timer, and fields replica harnes were done by previous owner and work was performed by MVP Motorsports in TX. All other work has been performed by me.

Imperfections:
Carfax does show 1 accident in 2007. Car was on drag radials and got caught in a massive rain storm and the car hydroplaned in a turn. Car was traveling approximately 15 mph at the time. The rear of the car hopped the curb and the passenger side rear quarter panel (right where it meets the rear bumper) struck a road sign. The damage was repaired to the passenger rear quarter and a new rear bumper was put on. Car was put on a frame machine at Sugar Hill Collision and checked out. There was no damage to the frame and the alignment came out perfect after the repair. Car tracks straight and does not pull or wander. Car still retains all original vin tags. Car also has minor rock chips on front of car typical for a car 15+ years old.

Call or text 404-545-4360. Price is $29,000 obo. I am negotiable, so please contact me with any reasonable offers.
Thank you for looking,
Eric

Toyota CamRally is vanilla spiced

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We weren't quite sure it was possible, but NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman and the other folks behind this Toyota Dream Build Challenge vehicle (check out the other cars in the challenge) have made the Camry, a versatile but vanilla family sedan, into a performance car to be reckoned with. And by stripping it (literally) of its versatility and injecting some spice into it, this rally-spec Camry does indeed appeal to the enthusiast crowd.
The appeal starts with the CamRally's vintage Toyota racing colors of red, orange and yellow painted on a widened body. Those wide fender flares and rocker panels, paired with the revised front and rear fascias (and massive rear spoiler), lend the car an aggressive look without being tacky, and enhance the aerodynamics. But peel back the skin and you'll find plenty of performance upgrades to back up the looks.
While Toyota doesn't say how much horsepower it makes, the CamRally's V6 is turbocharged, and we assume the car's brake upgrade is indicative of the engine's increased output. The stripped interior only contains what's needed for rally racing, including bucket seats, a motorsport steering wheel covered in Alcantara, a carbon-fiber dashboard and a roll cage.

Supra successor may be all-electric sourced from Tesla; MR2 returning too?

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

Rumors of a revival of the Toyota Supra and MR2 have been swirling for years right up until just this week when high-level Toyota employees all but confirmed their return.
But now The Detroit Bureau has put together news from different sources suggesting that the next Supra might be all electric. The report cites recent comments from Toyota senior executives hinting at plans to work with Tesla on a new joint project. The FT-HS Concept (shown above) seems a logical inspiration for a new Supra.
And on the other side of the equation is Tesla's design chief Franz von Holzhausen who was quoted last year saying his company was looking at its next project, probably a sports car, that would follow next year's intro of the Model X. He went on to suggest the car would compete directly with BMW's 3 Series, which, in coupe form, could be a worthy competitor to a Supra as well.

2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

People, us included, make a big stink about the importance of family sedans. There's no doubt they're critical - they represent a huge slice of the market's annual sales and profits. However, despite accounting for far fewer transactions than the midsize sedan segment, the fullsize sedan is getting attention from manufacturers now that our market's entire lineup of those (slightly) smaller four-doors has turned over in the last two years or so. As most of the fullsize segment's mainstays derive a fair bit of their platform and powertrain technologies from their midsize cousins, these larger four-doors offer the potential for fatter profit margins, too. And with the newly stylish duds found on many of the industry's most successful midsize sedans, it's only right that automakers no longer think about fullsizers as big, squishy, vanilla family haulers with flat seats, vague steering and a thin layer of 'luxury' in the form of faux wood trim.
As manufacturers have again started diving into large sedans feet-first, the cars themselves have become sharper. The interiors are now of a higher quality and loaded with tech, while the exteriors have become further extensions of each manufacturer's design language. There's perhaps no greater example of this than the Chevrolet Impala and Ford Taurus, two models that evolved from subpar offerings into market leaders. This segment-wide transformation happened quite quickly, whether because of coincidental timing or because manufacturers are trying to get more out of their big cars, recognizing they account for a small portion of overall sales (just 3.5 percent of the new-car market in the first half of 2013).
The 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid is one such vehicle. We remarked on the changes to the V6 variant last year, and while we previously had a quick steer of the gas-electric hybrid, we figured the new model was worth a closer week-long look.
