I have for sale my 1993.5 Toyota Supra Single Turbo. I am the second owner of the vehicle and have owned it since 2004. I have paperwork from when I bought it of where the original owner had a brand new shortblock from Toyota installed right under 100,000 miles. When I bought it was driven for about a year and 15,000 miles before it was completely taken apart and painted along with numerous items replaced at my father's body shop. The car was piece painted with Sikkens paint. While the car was apart the rear antenna was shaved, all new Toyota emblems, new rear spoiler, new front bumper and lip, new windshield, 98 headlights, all new turn signals front and rear, and new moldings where needed were used. The interior was also redone at this time including the front seats and door panels, rear seat delete (I have the rear seat still), and new dash plastics (which are painted the same gloss black as the car). Three years later I had the motor pulled and the single turbo, fuel system, and transmission done. At that same time the engine bay had the fuse covers, fan shroud, battery tie down and spark plug cover all painted. The turbo, intake manifold, valve covers, and a few smaller pieces were polished and the intercooler piping was powder coated. Once the car was done it was tuned by Larry at SP in Chicago using a Map Ecu for great drivability. The car put down a little over 500rwhp on pump gas and around 620rwhp on race fuel. The vehicle is very nice and the pictures do not do it justice. There are a few tiny chips on the front of the bumper and hood just from driving but the car has only been driven about 8,000 miles since painted and less than 3,000 miles since it was singled. The only flaw I can say about the car is that there is a check engine light on simply because one of the stock 02 sensors did not have a bung for it when we installed the single turbo and we never have ordered one to weld in. I do guarantee the car to run flawlessly at idle and under load and anyone is more than welcome to hear it run. I am sure I have missed a ton but that is the basics of the car. This was a very expensive build to do and no cost was spared. If you have any questions at all feel free to ask. Thanks, Curt

Toyota unveils two new small displacement engines
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Toyota introduced a pair of brand-new engines in Japan today, that it says will eventually spawn 14 different variants by 2015. Where these two engines stand out in today's world, is that neither mill boasts direct injection, and both are naturally aspirated.
The larger of the two is a 1.3-liter, while the smaller engine, a 1.0-liter, was developed in collaboration with Daihatsu. What makes these two unique is that they both use the Atkinson cycle. Now, we aren't going to bore you by explaining just what this is - there's Google for that. Suffice it to say, Atkinson engines are highly efficient, but that efficiency comes by sacrificing power. That's why they're so popular in hybrids, which can offset the power losses.
This focus on fuel efficiency extends throughout the new engines, which also benefit from tweaks like a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system and a trick intake port, while the 1.3 employs Toyota's iE variant of variable valve timing. Both engines can be fitted with stop-start tech. According to Toyota, when fitted with stop-start the 1.3 should provide around a 15-percent bump while the 1.0-liter will increase economy around 30 percent, when they arrive on the road.
Toyota says you might have the 40-millionth Corolla ever built
Sat, 07 Sep 2013The guy who bought the 50-millionth Toyota in the US got a free Camry and RAV4, but whoever in the world bought the 40-millionth Corolla in August gets a hearty "thank you" from the Japanese automaker. On sale since 1966, the Corolla is the best-selling nameplate in the world by a goodly margin (more than the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Model T combined). So while you'd think that vehicle number 40 million would be sitting in a museum somewhere, Toyota can't even say in which country this milestone Corolla was sold, let alone to which customer.
One reason that Toyota is unsure where this Corolla was sold is the fact that the Corolla name itself is more than just the compact sedan sold in the US. On our shores alone, sales of the Matrix are lumped in with the Corolla, but around the world, numerous vehicles wear the Corolla name or share its platform. Scroll down for Toyota's press release, and it has also put together a website celebrating 47 years and 40 million sales for the Corolla... and counting.
2015 Toyota Camry
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Every car has its definitive year. Whether it be the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ford Mustang, or yes, even the ubiquitous Toyota Camry, 10.2 million of which have been sold since 1983, every car has its year. For the Camry, that year was 1992. With son-of-Lexus styling, a clear sense of purpose and a parent company that had hit its stride as the purveyor of faultlessly reliable family transportation devices, the Camry got its legs in 1992. It's a car that even your mom is likely to remember, even if she never owned one herself.
The Camry you see here represents the closest Toyota has come to emulating the magic formula that made the 1992 model the stuff of legends. Compared to the 2014 model, some 2000 of the car's 6,000 parts are new, most of them involving things you can see or touch (on the outside, for example, only the roof carries over from 2014).
It's not a full redesign, but nevertheless it's a stunning development considering the predecessor upon which it's based only survived two model years. That's a testament to both the hyper-competitive nature of the family sedan segment and the lukewarm critical response that the outgoing car garnered. But that's in the past now - after driving this 2015 model, we suspect the new car's changes will be thorough enough to continue pulling in new customers by the hundreds of thousands each year for the foreseeable future.
