You are looking at a well kept, winter covered, mint condition, fantastic '85 Supra. NO RUST. I have had her for about 5 years and love her to death but it is time to move on.
I am the second owner and I have only put on about 4,000 miles. I will be completely honest about everything wrong with the car, no sense in telling any stories, you will see it anyway. The AC compressor won't hold a charge. The O rings have shrunk up and the whole system probably needs the O rings changed. If it was driven more the oil in the system would keep them lubed but that hasn't happened. EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS, even the motorized antenna. I do have some videos of the car. I have done a lot to keep her in great mechanical shape. All replacement parts are Toyota. I have even saved the old parts. What has been replaced: Plugs, plug wires, all water hoses, all belts (including timing, done by dealer), slave cylinder, cap/rotor, tires, gas cap, headlights. EVERYTHING else is ORIGINAL. It is kept under a chamois car cover, with a waterproof cover over that from November to May. The waterproof cover was riped up during a February wind storm (worse than Sandy), so that is gone. But, I tied down the ripped cover with bungie cords and one of them wore thru and scratched the top of the car! CRAP.. I have touched it up but you can still see it. For the most part the paint is in fantastic shape, there are a couple of very small paint chips, but you really have to look to see them. The ONLY rust is on both sides of the spoiler where it touches the liftgate, I have a picture. So very small, just can't get to it because of the location.I have a picture of the driver door, where the clear coat is peeling just a little above the trim. Again, I want you to know everything. The interior is in perfect shape, almost showroom, the only thing that shows any discolor or wear is the steering wheel, and that is minor compared to the ones I see online or on Ebay.
As you can see I am not asking top dollar. But, this car is worth top dollar. Each winter I take out the battery and in the spring when I reinstall it, and turn the key, she just instantly turns over and purrs like a kitten. Wonderful. And boy can she fly! I never have been one to push her, but she wants to go, go, go! I would love her to go to a person who loves to collect classic cars. But, that would be up to you as the new owner. :)
After the auction is complete, and a winner is declared, the winning bidder must make a comletely refundable $2000 payment to my PayPal account. The remainder will be paid when the car is seen and the winning bidder is completely happy. You will have to go to my local bank and present a check or money order with verifiction of funds. The Title will then be signed over to the new owner.

Toyota U2 urban utility concept inspired by Maker Faire [w/video]
Tue, 09 Sep 2014There's a quiet revolution happening in US cities. People want to mix an urban lifestyle with a connection to nature and appreciation for craftsmanship. The result of all of this is folks pursuing things as varied as urban farming, home brewing and the whole maker movement. Toyota thinks it has the perfect concept for these intrepid customers with its new Urban Utility concept that it is debuting during a panel discussion hosted by Make: magazine in San Francisco and debuting publicly on September 20 at the World Maker Faire in New York City.
The Urban Utility concept can best be described as a modern take on the old panel van. Designers from Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California interviewed Maker Faire participants to find out what its users want from a novel vehicle like this. "Toyota saw an opportunity for a new approach to an urban vehicle based on increasing re-urbanization of our cities and urban drivers' desire for flexibility, fun and maneuverability," said Kevin Hunter president of Calty.
On the outside, the Urban Utility doesn't really scream for attention. It's meant to meet users "desire for greater utility but a smaller vehicle footprint," according to the release, but the shape is still very much a van. The designers do try to lend it some panache with the LED headlights up front and checker board side panels. It's really more about utility than looks, though, because the roof can roll back for taller loads, the rear glass retracts into the tailgate, and the whole rear can fold down as a ramp to load stuff more easily into the cabin. Toyota isn't talking about a powertrain yet but claims that the underbody is also especially durable for a long life in the big city.
Expedition drives from Russia to Canada over North Pole...
Tue, 21 May 2013No, a Ford Expedition did not drive from Russia to Canada via the North Pole, but that's exactly what a team of intrepid explorers accomplished recently. Using specially-modified buses with massive tires, the group slowly drove 2,485 miles in 70 days over drifting ice, occasionally using a pickaxe to clear a path and staying on guard for chasms that could open up and plunge the team into the frigid arctic waters. Average speeds were about 6 mph, "at the speed of a (farm) tractor." While the big tires technically allowed the buses to float if the need arose, the team preferred to stay out of the water to keep the suspension from getting coated in thick, hard ice. Falling in on foot would mean almost certain death.
According to Phys.org, the buses were powered by Toyota diesel engines, but were built with prototype parts from a previous driving expedition to the North Pole. Right now, the machines are parked in a garage in Canada's Resolute Bay while the the team rests up with family back home. They plan to continue their trek to back across the Bering Straight to Russia. If successful, the team may eventually offer a version of their buses for commercial sale.
