For sale ia a 2005 Toyota Prius with a current Virginia Inspection. It is loaded with Navigation, Smart Key and Blue Tooth. It runs and drives 100%, is very fuel efficient and is being sold with no reserve. The 1.5L four cylinder electric/gas hybrid engine purrs along without a miss. The hybrid system is working perfectly. The system is charging and assisting as required and the auto stop engages when stopped. No "check engine" or warning lights of any kind. The steering, brakes and suspension are working perfectly. No exhaust leaks. The exterior is a light blue. Even though it runs 100% the exterior is not perfect as shown in the pictures. There are some bumps and bruises that will not affect the performance. The lights and lenses are bright and clear. No body rust. The windshield has no cracks but there is a chip. The driver side mirror works but is missing the cover. The tires, on factory alloy wheels, have about 25% tread (see pic). The interior is tan carpet and cloth seats. They are in good condition with no wear areas but there is a quarter inch hole in the middle of the driver seat. All the power options such as windows, side mirrors, cruise control, etc. work as designed. There are steering wheel controls for audio, climate control, info screen, blue tooth, navigation, etc. There is a factory sound system with CD. The heat is hot and the AC is cold. Very comfortable. This Toyota Prius maintains the same fuel efficiency as the newer high priced models and seems to have many more years and miles left. There are absolutely no current mechanical issues and no indication of any impending problems. The new owner will be able to drive home, with confidence, no matter where they live. This quality pre-owned Prius is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer. VW is world's second-best-selling automaker, GM falls to third
Thu, 30 Jan 2014Every year when we start talking about which automaker is the biggest in the world, there always seems to be at least a little bit of controversy. For 2013, Toyota handily took the top spot with 9.98 million sales, but it's the runner up spot between General Motors and Volkswagen that is starting to create a stir.
Based on our earlier report, GM's 9.71 million vehicles put it in second place ahead of VW's 9.5-million-vehicle effort. Now, The Detroit News is reporting that VW is claiming a tally of 9.73 million sales, including figures from MAN and Scania - heavy-duty truck divisions under the VW AG family. The article points out that Toyota's sales figure includes its Hino line of trucks, but these might still be considered light-duty vehicles while MAN and Scania build tractor trailers.

Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW. Toyota pimps out Esquire van for Japanese businessmen [w/video]
Wed, 29 Oct 2014A few months back we reported on a dealership owner in Japan who was petitioning Toyota to make a luxury van. The problem, he reasoned, was that he couldn't take as many friends, colleagues and clients around with him in his Lexus LS, and his Toyota Alphard van wasn't luxurious enough. Well, it seems like he wasn't alone, and Toyota has listened.
The Japanese auto giant has just revealed the Esquire, a new luxury van designed with just such customers in mind. It's significantly smaller than the Sienna we get in America, smaller than the aforementioned Alphard and about the same size as (this writer's favorite) the JDM Noah van (on which we gather it's based). But what sets the Esquire apart is its upscale appearance.
The boxy van is distinguished by its dominant T-shaped chrome grille with a unique emblem that encompasses a shield, sword, "the collar of a gentleman's suit" and the letters Esq. The flank is characterized by a strong beltline with chrome lower window frame and an expansive greenhouse with tinted rear glass. Inside the flexible cabin you'll find accommodation for seven or eight passengers (depending on specification), synthetic leather upholstery and wood and metallic trim. There are even wheelchair-enabled models on offer as well.
