2004 Toyota Prius Hybrid with Navigation.

You are looking at my 2004 Toyota Prius automatic. It has the 4 cylinder engine and gets amazing gas mileage. You can average around 50 MPG or more ( great for commuting!). With gas prices only going up this is a great choice. The front tires are almost new and the back still have a lot of life left in them. This car is mechanically sound and shifts perfectly. As you can see from the pictures this car was meticulously maintained, but does have regular exterior wear.   The fog light did not work when I bought the car and the buyer said I just need to change the bulbs but I never did.  Also the left fog light the small grill is missing which can be purchased cheap on Ebay, but is not noticeable since it is on the bottom of the car as you can see in the pictures.  I read that the Prius has been know to go up to 500,000 on the same battery and know for reliability and dependability.

The car has the following features:

* Navigation, HID/ Xenon Headlights ( I just replace one of them and have an new extra Xenon headlight which sell for $100)
*Foglights
* Bluetooth compatibility,
* Smart key (you can leave the key in your pocket/ purse, unlock/ lock and start the car)
*Premium Audio (JBL)
* 6 Disc CD Changer
* iPod integration

Extras added to the car:
* a strut tower bars was added for superior handling ($250 retail)
*WeatherTech all weather floor mats for all of the flooring and the trunk purchased for $350.
* A Milltown fire dept. sticker is on the back so you never get pulled over ;). ahahhaa!
* Just installed K & N lifetime air filter for increase horsepower and torque. This filter just need to be washed and can be used over and over.
*Just installed new cabin filter.
* I also with include new extra cabin filter and oil filter that I have for the Prius.

. This car has all of the luxuries most $50,000+ cars have, except it costs half as much.

The car has Never been smoked in or abused. The interior looks brand new. since we just vaccumed and shampooed the entire interior.
The title is clean, clear and in hand. The inspection sticker is good till 2014.

The car comes with the original owners manual, smart key, everything that would come from a dealer. The spare and all tools are included and I never had to use them and they look new.

Eiji Toyoda dead at 100

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Toyota has had number of chiefs over its 76-year history, but none ever served as long as Eiji Toyoda. The younger cousin of the company's founder served as president of the automaker from 1967 to 1982 and as chairman of the Toyota Motor Corporation for another ten years following the unification of the manufacturing and sales divisions.
During his 25 years at the helm, Eiji Toyoda (pictured above in 1967) was credited with establishing the company's headquarters in Toyota City, spearheading the development of the Prius, expanding production overseas for the first time, launching the Lexus brand and turning Toyota from a minor player into one of the largest automakers in the world.
Even after his retirement in 1992, he remained an honorary chairman and close advisor to his successors, and chaired the company's museum. He died of heart failure, ending a 100-year life that started on September 12, 1913, before the company that bore his family's name (albeit slightly modified) had even started building automatic looms, let alone automobiles. We extend our condolences to the Toyoda family and our congratulations on an accomplished life.

Toyota U2 urban utility concept inspired by Maker Faire [w/video]

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

There's a quiet revolution happening in US cities. People want to mix an urban lifestyle with a connection to nature and appreciation for craftsmanship. The result of all of this is folks pursuing things as varied as urban farming, home brewing and the whole maker movement. Toyota thinks it has the perfect concept for these intrepid customers with its new Urban Utility concept that it is debuting during a panel discussion hosted by Make: magazine in San Francisco and debuting publicly on September 20 at the World Maker Faire in New York City.
The Urban Utility concept can best be described as a modern take on the old panel van. Designers from Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California interviewed Maker Faire participants to find out what its users want from a novel vehicle like this. "Toyota saw an opportunity for a new approach to an urban vehicle based on increasing re-urbanization of our cities and urban drivers' desire for flexibility, fun and maneuverability," said Kevin Hunter president of Calty.
On the outside, the Urban Utility doesn't really scream for attention. It's meant to meet users "desire for greater utility but a smaller vehicle footprint," according to the release, but the shape is still very much a van. The designers do try to lend it some panache with the LED headlights up front and checker board side panels. It's really more about utility than looks, though, because the roof can roll back for taller loads, the rear glass retracts into the tailgate, and the whole rear can fold down as a ramp to load stuff more easily into the cabin. Toyota isn't talking about a powertrain yet but claims that the underbody is also especially durable for a long life in the big city.

Toyota settles for $3M after being found liable in sudden acceleration case

Sat, 26 Oct 2013

A jury has decided that faulty software was to blame for a crash involving a 2005 Toyota Camry that killed one woman and injured another. This is the first time Toyota has been found liable by a jury in a lawsuit involving sudden acceleration claims. Toyota has maintained that driver error is the most likely cause for cases of sudden acceleration.
Shortly after the jury in the case, which took place in Oklahoma and centered around a crash that injured 76-year-old Jean Bookout and killed her passenger, Barbara Schwarz, reached a verdict that would see Toyota paying $3 million in compensatory damages, a confidential settlement was reached. The jury, which had found Toyota liable for "reckless disregard" for public safety, had yet to decide what punitive damages Toyota would face.
Toyota said in a statement, "While we strongly disagree with the verdict, we are satisfied that the parties reached a mutually acceptable agreement to settle this case. We will continue to defend our products vigorously at trial in other legal venues."
