Up for Sale is this 2003 Sea Foam Green Toyota Prius. Do you see yourself wanting a great car good on mileage. Do you feel like its time to save some dough on gasoline prices? I purchased this 2003 Prius in 2006. At the time it had 20,000 miles on it and was in excellent shape. It only had one other owner besides me, and they took really good care of it. This is a non smoking vehicle. Since then the car has recieved regular oil changes, alighnments, service at the required miles at my mechanic and the Toyota Garage. The Transmission and Battery are in great shape. I just had a refurbished battery put in the car back in September of 2013 and it is running great. The car is said to be able to make it to 200,000 miles or more before any major issues. I am going to be honest here. It still has 132,000 miles on it. Anyone purchasing it should know that there will be maintenance on the car. The good news is that Toyotas are very dependable. The tires I just purchased in August of 2013 and they have almost full tread on them. I have had the car in a gated covered parking spot for most of the time I have owned it. The Miles per galon is 42/city 41 Highway. I have gotten in the up some of 75mpg or more. The car has a regenerative breaking system which charges the battery as the wheels are coming to a stop. The Brakes are in excellent condition and do NOT take the same wear and tear as normal vehicles. I loved my Prius so much, that I am looking to move onto a fully electric vehicle. In a city like Los Angeles It makes sense. This car will never need a smog check...ever. Serious Bidders only. Local pick up required, or buyer is responsible for researching rates for putting this car on a freight. If buyer finds a freight company to ship this car, then I can tack on extra money to drive it to said location. Must be within 30 minutes of my location however. No refunds, Returns, or Exchanges. |

VW targeting 10M sales in 2014
Sun, 16 Mar 2014Volkswagen Group believes it can sell over 10 million vehicles in 2014, with hopes of overtaking Toyota as the world's largest automaker in the process. If VW can do it, it would meet that goal four years earlier than planned. Of course, Toyota isn't sitting still - it also hopes to top the 10 million-car threshold this year and has the advantage of already holding the top spot.
"With rising volume and new models, we will increasingly see positive earnings effects as well," said VW Group CEO Martin Winterkorn during its annual press conference, according to Automotive News. The company is spending huge amounts of money to propel it to the top, investing 84.2 billion euros ($117 billion) through 2018, and according to AN it plans to introduce over 100 new models worldwide among all of its brands by the end of next year.
The German automaker may get an extra boost as the European car industry shows signs of emerging from its yearlong stagnation and China continues to grow. In January, VW Group was up 8.5 percent in Europe and 15.5 percent in China, according to its own figures. However, the US has been slowing with Volkswagen brand sales down 19.04 percent in January and down 13.81 percent in February.
Honda may recall up to 1M vehicles for airbag issue, following Toyota's lead
Mon, 16 Jun 2014It seems Toyota won't be the only one recalling the faulty Takata airbag inflators for long. Honda insiders in Japan claim that the company is getting close to announcing its own worldwide campaign that would begin before the end of June.
Unnamed sources close to Honda in Japan tell Automotive News that the company is pursuing an internal investigation into possibly affected models and is working with Takata to gather more information. They claim that it could involve even more than the 1.14 million cars worldwide that the automaker covered under the first recall for the problem in April 2013, including 561,000 vehicles in the US.
Toyota jumpstarted this process last week when it recalled over 2 million cars worldwide, including 844,277 in the US. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began a preliminary evaluation into the issue following six reported incidents, and started assembling data about potentially affected models from Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Chrysler. NHTSA also began investigating Takata itself.
