2002 Toyota Prius For Sale by Original Owner
Body and Interior in great condition, seat covers and rubber floor mats have always been in place, they are removed for sale and interior appears nearly new. Rear end was recently tapped and lightly hit by an un-insured driver, trunk latch needs adjustment to stay closed. Upholstery is in great condition-no dogs, no children. Seats and carpets show minimal wear. Car has never been smoked in and no child or animal smells. Paint is in excellent condition and all glass is clear and un-cracked. Minimal dings and nicks consistent with regular use as shown in pictures: -Small dent/scrape on rear bumper All features are in good running condition (air conditioning, power windows and locks, cd player, digital display) no navigation installed. Everything works great! New tires bought this year - 2013. This car runs fantastic and has always been Factory maintained. Regular Factory maintenance includes Factory oil changes every 3,000 miles. Major Factory recommended service with new belts hoses etc. at 150,000 miles. New Main Traction battery (the big expensive hybrid battery located underneath the rear seats) replaced at 200,000 miles. Hybrid system water pump replaced at 150,000 miles as well. Other then that this car has been bulletproof and has frequently gotten 50 miles per gallon (mpg) during freeway cruising. It runs great! All in all a great car that has proven itself to be reliable and bulletproof. Toyota says that if oil changes are kept up on a regular schedule that this car should be good to 500,000 miles. Everything described to the best of my knowledge. Please look at the pictures and ask questions! Very low reserve, buy it for next to nothing and use it for the next couple of years with no huge investment. Reserve set way below the price of the new Main Traction battery, not to mention what it is worth if parted out. Local Pick Up Only Payments: After paypal deposit is made, Buyer must meet me with cash or cashier's check for remaining balance (which I will verify at the bank before handing over the keys to the car). |

Here's the 2017 Toyota 86: Don't call it a Scion
Fri, Feb 5 2016After we heard the bells toll for Scion yesterday, we told you that the Scion FR-S will transform into a Toyota. That's right: just a rebadging. The practical question is, which badge? The philosophical question, which we can't answer yet, is where it'll sit in the pantheon of front-engined, rear-drive Toyota sports cars, of which the Supra was the last one to visit our shores, from 1992 until 1998 in its fourth generation. And as if summoned by this conversation, this camouflaged prototype appeared. Our best guess is that this is going to be the US-bound, Toyota-badged version of the Subaru BRZ and all the other 86-badged variants: the Toyota 86 (in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and South Africa), Toyota GT86 (in Europe and New Zealand again), and Toyota FT86 (in Nicaragua and Jamaica). For simplicity's sake, let's call it a Toyota 86. Peer into the 86's swirly camo, and it looks like the car is going in for a light refresh. The lower intake in the front fascia, if it's representative of a production part, adopts a different shape and is considerably wider and narrower than either the BRZ or FR-S units. It also appears that the turn signal and its surround are reshaped, different than any of the current variants. Changes out back appear mild. The area around the license plate seems to be smoother, and there is likely a predictable light restyle of the bumper skin and defuser under the camo. We don't expect a significant power increase, and certainly not a turbocharger (sorry!), but crossing fingers wouldn't do any harm. Related Video:
Toyota, Lexus will offer low-cost automated braking system
Mon, Mar 30 2015First, a technology gets better, then it gets a lot better, then it gets less expensive, then it gets a lot less expensive. Advanced driver safety and convenience systems are about to make that last step thanks to Toyota. Centered around a pre-collision braking system, there will be three suites of driver aids known as Toyota Safety Sense C (TSS C) for compact cars, Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS P) for midsized and premium cars, and Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) for the luxury brand. TSS C pairs a camera with laser radar to provide a pre-collision system that prompts the driver to brake if it detects an impending accident, and can supply additional braking force and automatically brake between seven and fifty miles per hour. There are also Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beam. TSS P pairs a camera with more precise millimeter-wave radar. Starting with the three functions in TSS C, it adds pedestrian pre-collision capability and adaptive cruise control. This one will be available first, coming on the new RAV4 Hybrid and Avalon. TSS - either C or P - will expand to three more vehicles by the end of the year. The wallop is in the price: TSS C will be a $300 option, TSS P will cost $500. Compare the Ford Fusion SE, for instance - it's Driver Assistance Package comes with Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beams, it has Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot and Cross Traffic Detection that neither TSS has, but doesn't have any autonomous braking feature. It costs $1,200, but requires you to add the Technology and Luxury Packages for a total price of $3,165. If you want Autonomous Cruise Control, that's another $995, for $4,160 in total. Instead of $300 or $500 on the Toyota. Lexus' LSS+ will come first on the new RX then spread to four more models by the end of this year, and cost between $500 and $635 to add as an option. It also uses a camera and millimeter-wave radar for its vehicle and pedestrian pre-collision system, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, automatic high beam, and auto cruise control. The similar package on a BMW X5, with no pedestrian component, is $1,200. Toyota says both safety suites will eventually be on "nearly all" of it products and all trim levels by the end of 2017.
