1989 Mr2 Mk1.5-The only one like it in the whole world:  This was a complete restoration from top to bottom.  I have owned this car for over 12 years.  It has been transformed into a weekend/track warrior.  A majority of the modification were completed over last winter.  The car has not been driven on the track since and only a few times on the street.  My bad back forces the sale.  All of the modification were completed by Yoshio Kishimoto (japanese-auto.com) a factory trained toyota master mechanic.  This is not chop shop rebuild.  It was completed with taste and looks like it just came out of the factory.  The following mods were completed on the car:

1.  Body:  New paint with crystal glass protection top coat, new fender flares, all windows and interior were removed during the process, and new carbon fibre rear wing.

2.  Interior:  New sparco seats, new Yoshio roll bar, new OMP race quick release steering wheel,  custom pedals, trd short shifter with que ball shift knob, 5 point race harness, and blitz boost controller.

3.  Drivetrain:  New jdm 3sgte turbo engine, custom intake, custom intercooler using the supercharger intake to keep a stock look, new bully clutch, new Kaaz 2 way limited slip, new custom drive shafts, berk down pipe, turbo blanket, New Supra tenzo injectors and fuel pump, new 4 core rad with new piping, New AMR custom sprung coilover suspension system, new suspension techniques front/rear swaybars, new custom exhaust with 4" stainless steel muffler, new willwood/Hawk larger brakes with bias valve, and new 15x8.25 XXR wheels with New Toyo 888, 205/50/15 fronts and 235/50/15 rears.

4. Data:  Dyno rwhp @ 285 with 18lbs of boost.

This is a unique one and only build that is an amazing driving experience.  Over $50,000.00 has gone into this build.  It is sitting in my warehouse waiting for it's proud new owner to drive her away.

Two weeks ago, Audi released its short video about this years 24 Hours of Le Mans, and now Toyota has put the experience into its own words and pictures. Called The Ultimate Endurance Race, the clip and accompanying press release focus on how hybrid power helped Toyota claim second and fourth places with the TS030 Hybrid in just its second year competing at Le Mans.
There are some brief scenes of the battles had this year, like when Lucas di Grassi in the Toyota almost kissed Allan McNish in the Audi above, but the best part might be when Toyota promises it will be back. Next year, it's gonna be good. You'll find the relevant words and the images just below.

Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow

Wed, Mar 16 2016

Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:

Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ successor canceled?

Tue, Jan 29 2019

Rumors indicate that the Toyota 86 is done for. Japanese Nostalgic Car is quoting Japanese sources as saying Toyota and Subaru have parted ways regarding the 86 and that the current car's replacement is off the table. According to JNC, the Japanese magazine Best Car is readying a report that the 86/BRZ successor has been canceled. JNC also considers the fact that in Japan, there will be a four-cylinder, 197-horsepower version of the new Supra, ready to continue where the 86 will leave the market. Back in 2016 the automaker seemingly confirmed that a replacement for the rear-drive car was under development, but plans can change and with a cheaper Supra version for sale in markets outside the U.S., we have to wonder if the 86 replacement has been shelved. The 86, while balanced, has only received mild enhancements and not a lot of extra power during its near-decade long time on the market, and it isn't such a strong seller that it would necessarily merit the effort of Toyota developing a successor on its own, particularly without the help of a partner like Subaru or BMW. At the same time, Autocar quotes Toyota boss Akio Toyoda on the Supra: "At the end of the day, is there anything better than a tight rear-wheel-drive sports car? I hope this won't be the last Toyota sports car you see from us in the future." While that is far from a solid statement of Toyota's future intent, it paves the way to offerings below the Supra, and shows how much the company boss cares about driver involvement. There is a distinct possibility that the company will re-introduce the MR2 as an electrified, rear-drive sports car – which could still be a joint venture with Subaru, as Japanese Nostalgic Car theorizes. Whatever's in the pipeline – and we hope there is something in the pipeline – it seems Toyota's heart is in the right place: driving the rear wheels. Related Video:
