Crimson Red Mr2 Turbo. Super Clean California Car. on 2040-cars
Royal Oak, Michigan, United States
Sadly the time has come to sell my beautiful 91 MR2 Turbo. She only has 89k original miles and was purchased in California. She has always been garaged and has been very well cared for. I'm hoping she will go to a good home and to someone who truly loves these rare cars.
I bought her last winter as a summer project but my priorities have changed and I am being forced to make a decision between selling my Z06 or MR2. The things you do for your future wife. haha. As you can see from the pics she has crimson red paint and black interior. She also has t-tops that do not leak. I have multiple cars so my toys are never ever driven in the rain. The exterior is in fantastic condition with a few small scratches here and there (I can walk you through any imperfections over the phone). The only negative is a paintchip/crack on the rear engine bonnet. This part can be repaired or replaced with minimal cost as it is just the bonnet. The interior is in great shape as well. A few imperfections here and there but nothing out of the ordinary for a 91. I also have almost new original floor mats which will be included in the sale. I recently replaced the alternator and belt with new Denso parts less than 10 miles ago. She recently also had an oil change as well. Battery has been tested and is in perfect working order. She also has electric power steering. Modifications include: Carbon Fiber front hood w/hood pins. 18" black wheels w/polished lip. HKS Boost gauge installed in stock boost location in the cluster. Racing seats offer great support over stock. Pioneer CD/MP3 player. HKS VPC. HKS Turbo Timer. HKS bov. UICP. Upgraded Turbo (Ill check the brand). K&N filter. Exhaust and Downpipe. Plugs/wires. AN braided SS fuel line. 550cc injectors. Supra fuel pump. I will add to the list if I forgot anything. I would recommend the owner replace the tires. I would rather the new owner have their choice of tires as oppose to me picking a new set. There are a few things I am working on before the sale. She currently has a low idle which is adjustable using the HKS VPC. She also has a vacuum leak causing boost to build slow. I am hoping to correct these issues before the sale if possible. However if the new owner wants her as is I will gladly negotiate the price accordingly. She also could use a shift boot (I can procure a stock one if the new owner likes). Only other thing is that the AC belt has been removed. This has never been an issue for me but I must be upfront in my ad. Other than above she is a fantastic car that needs very little to be perfect. She will also be well cleaned and detailed before sale as expected. Clean and clear Michigan title and will be sold with 2 keys and any extra parts I have. I am willing to negotiate with serious buyers. Please do not waste my time and I promise not to waste yours. I am open to reasonable offers. If you have any questions please contact me on my cell. Please feel free to call anytime. Thanks for your interest. Nick 248-895-2625 |

Cars we're thankful we drove in 2019
Thu, Nov 28 2019We drove a lot of cars in 2019, and there's still a month to go. We drove them in our home office in Michigan, at our remote offices in Seattle, Portland, Ore., and Columbus, Ohio, and throughout the globe on myriad press launches. We could count them, but hey, that seems boastful. Instead, we want to be thankful. Not only for the opportunity to do this wonderful task some might describe as a "job," but for the new, shiny cars that brighten our days (and most hopefully yours). We asked our fellow editors which car they were most thankful to drive in 2019 ... here are our answers. 2019 Hyundai Veloster N Performance Senior Editor Alex Kierstein Every once in a while a car comes along that changes the narrative on a company or its segment, and everyone scrambles to experience it for themselves. This year, for me, that car’s the Veloster N Performance, perhaps the most transformative car the companyÂ’s ever built. Everyone whoÂ’s driven it, here and elsewhere, says it captures all those intangibles that make great driving hatchbacks great. And IÂ’m thankful that I got a go in it before all of them left the fleet, because it does. It upends the segment long dominated by the GTI, a car that nails its brief. The N is rowdy and loud, sure, but it also has some of the most deftly tuned suspension IÂ’ve come across in a front driver. My advice: if youÂ’re in the market for something fun and unique, go test drive a Veloster N. I think youÂ’ll be thankful you did. 2019 Hyundai Veloster N View 47 Photos 2019 Audi E-Tron Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder IÂ’m pleased that I got to drive the Audi E-Tron. ThatÂ’s high praise for a year in which I also drove the stellar Jaguar I-Pace. The E-Tron, while not as sporty as the Jaguar, is excellently executed, and feels like a more refined, polished offering. ItÂ’s quick, whisper-quiet, comfortable, stylish inside and out, and incredibly sturdy. Some may lament that it doesnÂ’t do much to stand out from ICE vehicles, but I donÂ’t think it needs to. What it does need to do is win over the electro-skeptical, and I think Audi put its best foot forward with a crossover that can do just that, and more. So, yeah, not only am I thankful that I got to drive it, IÂ’m glad that itÂ’s compelling enough that itÂ’ll hopefully make potential customers feel the same. 2020 Audi E-Tron View 13 Photos 2013 Peugeot 508 West Coast Editor James Riswick My choice totally sucks.
Japanese earthquakes send ripples through auto industry
Mon, Apr 18 2016The earthquakes since April 14 in Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu are having aftershocks on the US auto industry, particularly for Toyota. The company shut down most of its factories in the country due to parts shortages, and the plants will be closed at least through April 23. "Decisions regarding recommencement of operation at plants in Japan will be made on the basis of availability of parts," the company said in a statement. According to Automotive News, Toyota's closed factories include a vast range of popular models in the US, including the Toyota Prius, Mirai, RAV4, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Lexus ES, LS, IS, GS, RC, NX, RX, GX, and LX. The company's only sites in Japan that are still open build Hino trucks, Daihatsu models, and the Toyota Century limo. Toyota isn't yet sure whether these shutdowns could lead to vehicle shortages in the US. "As you can imagine, we are still reviewing the situation and working to learn more," company spokesperson Aaron Fowles told Autoblog. "While we know that production will be suspended in stages at most of our vehicle assembly facilities in Japan between April 18th and the 23rd, we do not know if they will continue production suspensions. Also, any effects to our inventory and/or sales have yet to be determined." He expects the automaker to know more in the coming days. Many of the affected Toyota plants aren't even in Kumamoto Prefecture, but major suppliers have factories in the region. For example, Aisin Seiki and Renesas Electronics both had to shutdown operations at plants in the area, according to Automotive News. Toyota isn't the only automaker affected. Nissan experienced a brief slowdown but was back to work on Monday, and Honda has suspended a motorcycle plant in the region until Friday. Mitsubishi had to close a production line due to the parts shortage, according to The Japan Times, but it didn't affect US models. "A supplier to our Mizushima plant has been impacted but they only supply an engine part for our mini car line. That line has been temporarily shut down due to that situation," spokesperson Alex Fedorak told Autoblog. "That same plant builds the Lancer and i-MiEv and there has been no impact to that line and production continues uninterrupted." Two major quakes hit Kumamoto Prefecture around Kumamoto city in the past week. The first on April 14 measured 6.4 magnitude, and a second on April 16 measured 7.3.
Toyota finds profit in Europe thanks to hybrid sales
Thu, Jun 5 2014In the land of diesel, Toyota appears to be making money its own way and thereby making more of it. The Japanese automaker is taking on Europe's diesel-centric ways by substantially boosting sales of hybrids on the continent. That, along with cost cutting measures, has increased the company's European profitability, Automotive News says, citing recent remarks by Toyota's European operations chief Didier Leroy. Toyota, which lost money in Europe between 2008 and 2011, started turning things around two years ago by cutting labor at places like UK factories while consolidating production of models such as the Auris and Yaris hybrid vehicles. During the most recently completed financial year, Toyota Europe reported earnings that were up 75 percent from the year before, despite revenue being up just five percent. The company also aims to sell at least 1 million vehicles in Europe by next year and is boosting sales in countries like Russia. Late last year, Didier told Bloomberg News that Toyota's European market share was rising about one percentage point a year, while production at Toyota's factories in countries like France, Turkey and the UK were running at full capacity. Toyota estimated at the time that hybrids accounted for about a fifth of Toyota's European sales.
