Im an NOT entertaining ANY offers below $15,000 . This 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder has 22,750 original and genuine low impact miles. All from one owner (until another collector bought it who only put 45 miles on it). I have all the DMV registration papers showing the same owner until 2013 and all the few limited TOYOTA services from new, proving the miles. I bought this plus another MR2 as collectable but should really only keep one of them. You cant find a car like this very often so its very rare. Its been babied all its life. Most you'll see have 85,000 to 180,000 miles and are pretty rough as you'd expect. This car should last you for years and appreciate. 100% stock Toyota parts so easy to replace if you do need to. The shine on the original paint remains incredible like new. When I bought it recently, I had the limited minor scuffs on the rims 100% fixed ($330), registered it with CA DMV ($560), smogged, 4 Yokohama tires just to have newer tires than the originals they came with, had TOYOTA of Northridge check EVERYTHING and I spent over $400 on a tiny hidden leak that you would not have even seem as its covered with a pan as I believe a collectable should be perfect. Had the drive floor mat hooks replaced. See photo on the Toyota rack! I have all the paperwork. I had a K&N air filter installed and synthetic oil although it did not need an oil change but I'm kind of anal about that kind of thing. The top and interiors are absolutely perfect, almost no scuffs or marks, it really is factory (+ 1 year) condition, what you'd expect from a car that is perhaps 1 year old and carefully driven. Such a stunning car, people constantly ask me about it, or ask me at traffic lights what car it is! You will need to arrange pick up. Payment by bank wire only within 1 business day of the offer / acceptance. Great for a fun car, 2nd car, for a partner or kid or just drive occasionally and watch it appreciate. Its to reliable you could have it as an everyday car. Ive put about 500 miles on it to make sure it runs well... plus its so fun. You cant go wrong with a Toyota. If I don't sell, I'll keep it as a collectable... You really cant price a car in this condition. Its worth what you think its worth, like a '65 mustang.... on paper its not worth much. To someone who wants it.......... much more.... I am still driving it a little as its so much fun and its very sunny here in Los Angeles! A couple of tiny stone chips on hood (typical) that are hardly noticed with exact paint color touch up. I have set this up so you can make an offer of at least $15,000, or more. You can still "buy now". It is of course sold "as-is".

Toyota Prius remains best-selling vehicle in California, wireless charging tests underway
Thu, Feb 20 2014About one in every nine new cars in the US are sold in the California. If we're just looking at the four Toyota Prius hybrid variants, then the number becomes closer to one in three. Tesla Model S battery-electric vehicle sales? Try one in 2.7. For the second straight year, the Prius was the best-selling car in the Golden State. Toyota sold 69,728 Priuses there, almost a third of the more than 234,000 sold in the US in 2013. Prius sales in California alone were up almost 13 percent. And Toyota's ready to build upon that momentum with a new version of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, saying that it's testing a wireless recharging system in Japan's Aichi Prefecture and will start similar tirals stateside later this year. We'll make the wild prediction that some of those tests, which involves magnetic resonance, will be in California. Meanwhile, Tesla's numbers were, in their own way, were more impressive. The California-based automaker sold 8,347 of its Model S units in the Golden State out of about 22,300 nationwide in 2012, Bloomberg News reports. In all, advanced-powertrain vehicles accounted for 9.3 percent of California new-vehicle sales, compared to 3.8 percent for the country, Bloomberg says, citing Hybrid Cars and Baum & Associates. The Prius Family (Prius Liftback, Prius v, Prius c and Prius Plug-in) took the podium in both 2012 and 2013 as the best-selling California vehicle name plate. 69,728 drivers hit the road in 2013, according to the California Auto Outlook Report, while 61,893 Californians joined the family in 2012. In the Golden State, the Prius Family outsells all other hybrid competitors combined. California drivers lead the country in adoption of vehicles powered, either wholly or partially, by electricity. 9.3% of vehicles sold in the state run on some form of electricity, according to the report. But despite the growing number of hybrid competitors, Toyota's hybrid leadership remains unmatched. In fact, one out of every two hybrids in California carries the Prius name plate.
Honda, Hyundai top car residual value / depreciation awards list
Thu, Nov 18 2021J.D. Power announced its 2022 U.S. ALG Residual Value awards Thursday, with Honda and Hyundai topping the charts at three models apiece in the industry-standard study. The term "residual" is an industry projection of how well a car will hold its resale value three years from the original purchase date – a key metric in calculating lease costs and projecting new-car depreciation. Award winners included several enthusiast-friendly options, including the BMW 2 Series, Dodge Charger, Subaru WRX, Mercedes-AMG GT and Toyota Tacoma. Even the Ford Bronco was recognized, beating out the Jeep Wrangler in the Off-Road Utility segment. That may seem odd given the car's issue-plagued launch, but scarcity apparently trumps quality control issues over the longer term. Here's a scrolling complete list of winners broken down by segment: “Accurately forecasting residual values in the auto industry is a key factor in assessing an estimated $225 billion lease portfolio of vehicles in the United States,” said ALG VP Eric Lyman in the company's announcement. "The brands and vehicle models that rise to the top demonstrate that they score well across the award programÂ’s criteria, including manufacturersÂ’ superior design and quality." ALG looks at several factors to determine future value, which is especially tricky with new models. For 2022, 16 different brands were recognized across 29 segments. Toyota reaffirms commitment to body-on-frame SUVs
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Toyota sold 121,055 Highlander CUVs in 2012, according to Automotive News. By comparison, it sold 78,457 examples of four different body-on-frame, truck-based SUVs (4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Sequoia and Land Cruiser). One could argue then, that the traditional SUVs aren't pulling their weight from a sales perspective. Yet that isn't stopping Toyota from reaffirming its commitment to a segment that has seen its former champions - Ford, General Motors and Chrysler - abandon it with alarming speed. Ford and GM still offer body-on frame utilities, but only in the very largest offerings, catering to seven or even eight passengers. Everything outside of the Expedition or Tahoe rides now on a unibody.
Toyota's decision to stick with the technology is good news if you're in the market for smaller SUVs that are still capable of heading well off the beaten path. Outside of the Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee (a unibody) and perhaps Nissan Xterra, there's not much in terms of capable SUVs between $20,000 and $50,000. As the Toyota brand's US head, Bill Fay, says, "Clearly, the trend has shifted, but there is still an owner base that is interested in these vehicles."
We don't doubt Fay on that, but it may also be somewhat telling that Toyota's SUV lineup is aging, and we haven't seen or heard much about replacement models in the pipeline. Admittedly, the 4Runner (pictured) has been facelifted for 2014, but it's mostly cosmetic in nature. Despite Toyota's posturing, we still expect its body-on-frame lineup to thin in the coming years as sales dwindle and escalating fuel-economy standards make business cases even tougher. Here's hoping that Toyota manages to keep at least one rough-and-tumble SUV in its lineup in the coming years.
