1991 Toyota Mr2 T Tops 2.2l 5s-fe Manual Transmission on 2040-cars
Syracuse, New York, United States
This is a 1991 Toyota MR2 with removable T tops. Cloth interior, 203,000 miles and a Salvage Title. I purchased this in PA, where it has been all of it's life. It is incredibly clean car, as far as rust and corrosion. New battery in 2012, and new Falken Ziex tires in 2012. Owners manual, t top inserts are still there. no broken glass. As you can see there is damage. Right front fender, lights, rim, hood, and bumper are all damaged. Right front trailing arm, tie rod, sway bar need replacement. has a leak of power steering fluid when running in the front of the car. Also has left rear quarter dent, and dent behind passenger door. engine valve cover has slight oil leak. radio antenna does not go down. As far as the car goes it is what it is, an old salvage Toyota with high miles. But on the otherhand, a TRD2000GT body kit and a JDM engine/trans/ECU swap, you got yourself a perfect candidate at a reasonable price. This engine runs great and tranny shifts smooth, easily worth the starting price, when you put into account the at the body is completely rust free and interior is clean and this car has never been modified only maintained it seems like a great starting point. but then again, it's an old salvage Toyota with 200,000 on it. plain and simple. just buy this piece of shit and get it out of my way. I'll even help you load it onto the flatbed, or bring it to you shipping point. |

Toyota struggling in Latin American market, attempting recovery
Fri, 30 Aug 2013With uncertainty in the US and Chinese markets, automakers are scrambling to rev up their efforts in what were traditionally secondary markets. Take Toyota's efforts in Latin America. A recent story from The Wall Street Journal highlights the Japanese brand's push in the southern hemisphere, particularly in Brazil, where it has expanded its operations and installed new executives with a greater range of powers, all in a bid to grab a bigger slice of the ever-growing South American pie.
South America is dominated by General Motors, Fiat and Volkswagen, which maintain a combined 60 percent of the market share - Toyota holds a mere 4.5 percent. The WSJ spoke with Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's boss in Latin America, who said, "We are playing catch up, but we're catching up fast. We now have the resources to give the region the attention it really needs and deserves."
That attention includes an all-new, locally produced small car called the Etios. As bewildering as it seems, Toyota wasn't competing in the low-cost economy car market in South America. With the Etios, which arrived in September of 2012, its sales in the first seven months of 2013 are up 75 percent.
Toyota mulling more Tundra, Tacoma capacity in TX
Tue, 17 Dec 2013Toyota may be expanding its pickup truck production at its San Antonio, TX factory following calls from dealers for more Tacoma and Tundra models, according to a new report from Automotive News.
The San Antonio plant is currently able to produce 250,000 trucks on two shifts with overtime, while a secondary facility in Tijuana, Mexico can build an extra 50,000 Tacomas. Despite this capacity, and the fact that Tundra is a slow seller relative to the full-size trucks from Ford, Ram and Chevrolet/GMC (not to mention the Tacoma being part of a segment with diminishing sales), Toyota franchisees apparently can't get enough of the trucks.
"Dealers are telling us they could sell more Tacomas and Tundras," said Bill Fay, the general manager of the Toyota Division. "We are evaluating our footprint and capacity." According to AN, Toyota has moved over 248,000 trucks through November.
Santa swaps his sleigh for a Ferrari-powered Toyota
Fri, Dec 23 2016A Ferrari-powered Toyota 86 is sure to garner a bit of attention, as well it should. We've been paying attention throughout this build, so it should be no surprise then that Santa did as well. He's ditched his red sleigh for the Gumout GT4586 in this video. If you've been following along, you know that Ryan Tuerck and Gumout built this completely bonkers machine that's far more exciting than some previous Japanese/Italian mash-up automobiles. Donut Media has been doing their part to document and promote every stage of the process. This new video is filled with the gratuitous amounts of lights, noise, and tire smoke that Donut is known for. We don't know the conversion from horsepower to reindeerpower, but the GT4586 should provide plenty of oomph for Santa's Christmas trek.
