The race-style mid-engine design MR2, supercharged 145- horsepower version of the 1988 MR2. The supercharged MR2 hits 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds. This is a very clean car. It is an excellent handling road car. This is a true example of what a Driving machine should be. One of less than 2000 imported into the united states in 1988. Road and track still declares this car one of the best sports cars ever made. T-tops and storage bags, spoiler, original paint with original decals. Gray paint with black leather interior including door panels and brand new leather seats. The following parts were replaced new: Clutch master slave cylinders, brakes, all hoses and belts, AC compressor and receiver/drier, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, power window regulators, spark plugs and wire set, air filter, motor oil and oil filter, most parts from Toyota including a brand new battery. Digital clock works, AC works, No leak or mechanical problems. This MR2 is probably the fastest supercharged I have come accross. It's unbelievable for the year and the miles. The vehicle has about 229k and it still flies. Dont' take my word for it, come and drive it. There are only a few of these supercharged MR2's, specially in this condition, (all original), and stick shift. A true California rust free MR2. The dashboard was covered with a dash cover since new, so it has no cracks and the steering wheel also looks nice. Look close, this is the top of the line Toyota made in 1988, "all leather interior". Code alarm remote or keyless entry. This car will only go up in value. Keep in mind that this is a 24 year old vehicle and it has the normal wear of a 24 year old vehicle. Vehicle is being sold as it is, AS IS means that there is NO WARRANTY expressed, written or implied on the vehicle. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO INSPECT THE CAR IN PERSON OR HAVE A THIRD PARTY INSPECTION DONE.

Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash
Fri, 11 Oct 2013Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.
Next-gen Toyota Tacoma mule caught towing in the desert
Wed, 13 Aug 2014With the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon set to arrive in dealers in the near future, it's high time Toyota got to work on a replacement for the Tacoma, a vehicle whose present generation debuted in the middle of the Bush Administration. Now, we have images of that new pickup undergoing testing.
Our spy photographers picked up this heavily modified mule undergoing tow tests in the desert. It rides on a modified version of the current Taco's frame, as evidenced by shots of its undercarriage, although our spies cite the lack of riveted sections as indications that the current truck's footprint should remain unchanged.
Aside from underbody changes, this particular Tacoma featured a six-speed manual transmission, which we're expecting to be joined by a six-speed automatic. The current four- and five-speed autos found on the current truck will almost certainly be killed off. Marching to the grave with those slushboxes will be the two-door Regular Cab body style. Our spies are expecting Toyota to focus its efforts on the larger, more accessible Double Cab.
Toyota investing $30 million in Indiana for more Highlander production
Sun, 28 Jul 2013Indiana seems like the place to be if you're looking for work in a car factory. In May, Subaru announced plans to invest $400 million in its Lafayette, Indiana plant, creating 900 new jobs in the process and increasing capacity to 300,000 units per year. Now, Toyota has announced plans to invest $30 million in its Princeton, Indiana plant, 170 miles south of the Subaru factory, which also builds the Camry.
Toyota's investment will create an additional 200 jobs and increase the factory's volume by 15,000 units. Toyota announced an investment in the plant in February of 2012 that bumped volume up from 300,000 to 350,000 units. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, as the Princeton facility is officially known, produces the recently revised Toyota Highlander, the Sequoia and the Sienna. It employs 4,500 people, and this announcement represents Toyota's tenth production increase in under two years.
