1987 Toyota Mr2 3s-gte Turbo Project on 2040-cars
Longwood, Florida, United States
I have a 1987 MR2 for Sale, This is for a Non Running Project Car. I bought the car with intention to fix it up, but after getting a second job, It has been neglected, and I don't want the car anymore. The car is swapped with a 92 2nd Gen 3S-GTE out of an SW20 MR2 Turbo.
Pros- Decent paint, some Minor scratches and chipping but no clear damage. Interior is complete and in good condition. It's Ice Blue, with one minor dash crack. Included in the sale will be all of the black interior panels I've sourced for an interior swap. Easily worth another couple hundred bucks. The Transmission and motor were freshly rebuilt. They both had around 500 miles, no documentation, when I bought the car. The Clutch is a Stage 2 Yellowplate Drag Clutch, Short throw shifter installed as well. Transmission shifts beautifully. Rust Free Body. Rear Plastic C Pillar Trim is still there. If you know MR2s, you will know that's the first thing to go. Block was Rebuilt with Wiseco Pistons, Aluminum rods, Port and polished head. Again going off the PO, there is no Documentation. Cons Blown Headgasket, I think. It doesn't run, and 3S's are known to go through headgaskets. I unfortunately never got to take a good enough look at it to determine what caused it. The Bay is fairly dirty. One of the rear tires has trouble holding pressure. The Car is currently sitting on 17 inch rims, they rub. I'd recommend 15s. IT DOES NOT RUN. Don't buy if you think you can drive it home. It is a project car in every sense of the word However if you know anything about Mk 1.5 swaps you know this is the easiest way to get performance out of an AW11. 3S motors can be built to insane power, and the bottom end on this is rebuilt, going off what the PO had told me. The vehicle is listed for sale locally. I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time before the end if it sells locally. |

2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Tue, 29 Jan 2013Giving Vanilla A Good Name
"Vanilla." Taken in modern context, that's not a compliment, but it should be. Vanilla actually has exotic origins, and as spices go, only saffron is more costly. Despite the realities, calling something "vanilla" is not whistling in admiration. The Toyota Camry has been called "vanilla" countless times since its debut, but both the car and the bean have something up their sleeves.
Scoff all you want, but vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor, and there is no mainstream sedan that outsells the Camry. Apparently, vanilla has an underlying tinge of filthy lucre. We didn't feel rich, exactly, wheeling around in the Camry Hybrid, but we came away impressed, nonetheless.
Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
