1999 Toyota Landcruiser

You are bidding on a 1999 Toyota Landcruiser with 175,534 miles.  This SUV is in very good condition for its age.  The engine sounds and feels smooth as butter and the transmission shifts perfect.  Its amazing to me how new this vehicle still feels.  Here are some specifics:

Exterior.  The paint and body are in very good condition for a 1999.  There are not more than a few dents in the body, and very few paint chips in the hood.  After its been waxed I think the paint quality looks new.  There are a few nicks, scrapes and dings throughout the body.  The most noticeable is a scrape on the passenger side on the rear and rear glass area

Engine/Mechanical.  This Landcruiser had a $833.78 service completed on 11/24/10 with the vehicle at 159,083 miles.  This service included new spark plugs and timing belt.  This Cruiser also had a $1592.32 completed on 10-10-11 at 167,104 miles.  The rear locker would not unlock when I took it for a test drive.  The owner took it to the Toyota dealer and had them put in a brand new rear locker and differential.  The dealer told me it got stuck in the locked position probably due to lack of use.  We have receipts for both of these services as well as other routine maintenance.

Brakes.  New front brake pads, new rear rotors and pads installed on 8-23-10 at 156,867 miles.  There is a small amount of brake pulse and modulation when braking from highway speed, I don't notice it around town.

Tires/Rims.  Has 4 Michelin AT2 tires at about half life mounted to 4 powder coated steel Tundra wheels.  These wheels were professionally powder coated by a local shop.  The tires were off my brothers 2 wheel drive Toyota Tundra.  My brother had a leveling kit on the Tundra and the tires did not wear terribly even.  I put them on about 1,000 miles ago and noticed they do not ride nearly as smooth as the BFG long trails they replaced.  I have had them balanced twice and there is still a very small amount of vibration from them at highway speed.  The vibration was not there with the previous tires.  If I was to keep this Land Cruiser they would be the first thing I would replace.

Interior.  No tears in the leather but a bit of cracking in the drover and passenger seat.  No cracks or chips in any of the glass.  No rips or tears in headliner.  No cracks or punctures in the dash.  It has an aftermarket stereo and speakers that sounds good.  Everything works on the interior including heated front seats, all power windows, sunroof,  all door locks, heated mirrors A/C, heater, rear A/C heater, center locking differential, rear locking differential etc.   The drive light on the dash did burn out a few days ago.

important options on this Cruiser: Rear AC and heat to keep your passengers comfortable, and rear locker to climb anything ( so I've heard, only had her in the dirt twice and that was mostly dirt roads).

I love this Cruiser.  I like it so much we are now in the market for a 200 series.  If you have been looking for a 100 series, this could be the one for you!  Fly in to the Albuquerque international airport and we can pick you up.
Priced $2000 below NADA value due to the fact it needs tires.  Make an offer, we might just take it.

Please CALL me if you are a serous buyer BEFORE you bid so we can confirm all the specifics of the vehicle and the purchase process.

Recharge Wrap-up: Renault-Nissan hits 250,000 EVs, will the next Toyota Prius be an SUV?

Sat, Jun 27 2015

Will the next Toyota Prius be an SUV? Mazda and Toyota recently reached an agreement to share powertrain technologies, which will help Mazda comply with California's tightening ZEV restrictions with a plug-in vehicle. On the flip side, Toyota will have access Mazda's Skyactiv diesel powertrain, which a source tells Motoring will be used in an SUV based on the Toyota Prius (and, as Hybrid Cars suggests, on the Toyota C-HR concept). Interestingly, the collaboration will also give Mazda access to Toyota's fuel cell technology, which could mean more hydrogen powered cars on the road and the subsequent expansion of hydrogen fueling infrastructure. Could it also make way for a long-awaited hydrogen powered rotary-engine sports car from Mazda? Read more at Motoring. Samsung SDI unveiled two new lithium-ion stationary batteries at Intersolar Europe. In doing so, Samsung throws its hat in the ring with the likes of automakers Tesla and Mercedes-Benz, using knowledge from electric vehicle batteries in the arena of home solar energy storage. In addition to its 3.6-kWh battery, its new 5.5-kWh and 8.0-kWh batteries offer storage solutions at a larger, more practical scale for solar customers. Called the All-in-One, the battery system, borrowed from electric vehicles, is made up of a photovoltaic inverter, battery PCS and lithium-ion battery, and promises efficiency, compactness, fast installation and an affordable price. Read more from Samsung SDI. The Renault-Nissan Alliance has sold its 250,000th electric vehicle. The quarter-millionth EV was a white Renault Zoe sold to a French computer engineer from Bordeaux named Yves Nivelle. While he credits a government program offering a ˆ10,000 rebate for EV buyers trading in an older diesel vehicle for helping him make the decision to pull the trigger on the new Zoe, "I have to say, I was convinced the first time I drove the car. It's a real pleasure to drive and it feels good to do my part for the environment," says Nivelle. The Alliance had sold around 31,600 EVs from January to May this year, up 15 percent from the first five months of 2014. See the video above, and read more in the press release below. Renault-Nissan Alliance sells its 250,000th electric vehicle • Historic EV milestone reached in early June • Alliance sells half of all EVs globally • EV sales up nearly 15 percent through May vs.

New Toyota semiconductors could increase hybrid fuel efficiency by 10%

Wed, 21 May 2014

Toyota may have an ace up its sleeve in the fuel economy wars, as it's developed a new type of semiconductor that will allegedly help the company's hybrids net a ten-percent improvement in fuel economy.
The tech is still in development, although Toyota is already reporting five-percent gains during testing, six years before it plans to implement the new semiconductor in production vehicles, meaning the ten-percent improvement doesn't seem like an untenable goal. That is, until you hear from Kimimori Hamada, the project general manager of Toyota's electronics division.
"We are aiming for great improvement in fuel economy and miniaturization," Hamada told Automotive News. "This is a very challenging target."
