1994 Toyota Landcruiser Land Cruiser Fzj80 White Nice Shape 4x4 Oem Lockers on 2040-cars
Chardon, Ohio, United States
Up for auction is my 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser. I bought this land cruiser late last fall thinking I was going to get into offroading and its just not going to happen so rather then have it sit I want to pass it on to somebody who can utilize its great offroad capabilites. Since purchasing it I have done the following to it.
Changed all fluids including engine oil, front and rear differentials, tranny fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid. I installed a new Platinum AGM battery along with new spark plug wires and spark plugs. I have also cleaned the throttle body and put a new air filter in it. I have also installed a new Toyota OEM starter as well as a brand new exhaust from the manifolds back including OEM O2 sensors. I also installed the long OEM brake line that runs from the front to the back LSPV valve. All brakes are at about 80% and rotors are in good shape, all OEM Toyota parts. I also installed a new OEM Toyota ignition switch as the old one was sticky and not making good contact. I removed the rear carpet and cleaned it as well as cleaned the 3rd row seats which I dont thing have ever been sat in. They are removed now but will be included. I have cleaned all the leather seats with a good PH balanced saddle soap to get them back to feeling soft again. Everything works on the LC in the interior. Remote mirrors, antenna goes up and down, radio, cruise control, all wipers and washers work and the rear defroster works too. The sunroof works as it should too and operates nice and smooth. All headlights and turn signals work as they should. I have also installed new KYB shocks in the front and I have new KYB shocks for the rear too I just didnt install them yet but they will be included. It needs them as the rears bounce now but the fronts work great. This Land Cruiser has 17" chrome rims with all terrain tires that are at about 75% tread depth. The tires are knock offs of the BFG KO's. A little history on this LC. I have receipts for all of the work that follows from the dealership. The previous owner overheated it at 98K and had the Toyota dealership install a new head gasket and a rebuilt cylinder head with new valves, stem seals, valve job etc. Then at about 99.5K the motor developed a knock and the previous owner took it to the dealership and they rebuilt the entire engine. New everything went into the motor. They installed first over pistons etc etc. Again I have all the receipts for this work. Overall the motor had about $7500 thrown at it and only has 51K on the freshly rebuilt motor so theres a ton of life left in this LC. It runs like a swiss watch. Very smooth. So just to recap this LC has front and rear factory lockers and I added the center diff switch to the dash. 4x4 works great and all mechanical systems are good. The not so good things on this LC is that the underside does have some surface rust consistent with a vehicle thats been in Ohio its whole life. All frame and suspension components are structural sound just some surface rust. There is one small rust hole by the drivers side rear of the running board about the size of a quarter. Body is in good shape with a few small "character" marks on it. No dents or anything though. Please checkout the pics and ask any questions you may have. I've tried to cover everything. Thanks for looking at my Land Cruiser and good luck if you decide to bid! |

Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV wears silver, Foxconn's $15K EV, solar power at GM
Mon, Jun 30 2014The Toyota FCV made its North American debut at the 2014 Aspen Ideas Festival, and this time it's not sporting its usual blue sheet metal. This silver paint job shows a bit more contrast. Certain features stand out a bit more, especially the black strip that wraps around the grille and down the sides of the hood to the mirrors. This is the production version of the car's exterior, which will go on sale in California next summer. Toyota also had its Driver Awareness Research Vehicle, DARV 1.5, on display in Aspen. DARV 1.5 uses technology to decrease driver distraction and measure driver behavior to provide a safe driving score. See more of both cars in our image gallery. Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry (also know as FoxConn Technology Group) says it is planning to build electric cars that will cost just $15,000, according to The China Post. The world's largest electronics maker, which assembles mobile devices for Apple, promises that the cars will be highly connected. "When integrated with cloud computing, the Internet, smart traffic and smart cities in the future, people will be able to drive more easily and reduce car accidents more efficiently," says Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou. At a shareholder's meeting, Gou didn't comment on production timing or other details about the cars, nor would he answer questions about possible cooperation with Tesla Motors. Hon Hai made headlines in recent years after a series of employee suicides, which led the company to raise worker wages and install anti-suicide netting on its buildings. EV advocates in Illinois took a 500-mile road trip to help temper range anxiety in potential buyers, says the Chicago Tribune. The demonstration, organized by the Illinois Green Economy Network, meant to show people that they can use electric vehicles to drive long distances without getting stranded with a dead battery. The drive began near Carbondale and traveled to 11 different community colleges with charging stations before terminating in Grayslake. Illinois has about 5,000 registered electric vehicles, and 450 public and private charging stations. General Motors is building three acres of new solar arrays to produce an expected 400,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy per year. The new arrays at GM's Swartz Creek processing center and Flint engine plant will be completed this fall, contributing to the company's 38 megawatts of solar power from facilities around the world.
Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs
Wed, Nov 29 2017BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining
Here's the 2017 Toyota 86: Don't call it a Scion
Fri, Feb 5 2016After we heard the bells toll for Scion yesterday, we told you that the Scion FR-S will transform into a Toyota. That's right: just a rebadging. The practical question is, which badge? The philosophical question, which we can't answer yet, is where it'll sit in the pantheon of front-engined, rear-drive Toyota sports cars, of which the Supra was the last one to visit our shores, from 1992 until 1998 in its fourth generation. And as if summoned by this conversation, this camouflaged prototype appeared. Our best guess is that this is going to be the US-bound, Toyota-badged version of the Subaru BRZ and all the other 86-badged variants: the Toyota 86 (in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and South Africa), Toyota GT86 (in Europe and New Zealand again), and Toyota FT86 (in Nicaragua and Jamaica). For simplicity's sake, let's call it a Toyota 86. Peer into the 86's swirly camo, and it looks like the car is going in for a light refresh. The lower intake in the front fascia, if it's representative of a production part, adopts a different shape and is considerably wider and narrower than either the BRZ or FR-S units. It also appears that the turn signal and its surround are reshaped, different than any of the current variants. Changes out back appear mild. The area around the license plate seems to be smoother, and there is likely a predictable light restyle of the bumper skin and defuser under the camo. We don't expect a significant power increase, and certainly not a turbocharger (sorry!), but crossing fingers wouldn't do any harm. Related Video:
