1979 Toyota Fj40 Land Cruiser on 2040-cars
Syracuse, Indiana, United States
This is a 1979 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser that has been sitting for some time now. The fuel pump whet bad and was never replaced. I recently purchased the new fuel pump from www.coolcruisers.com, and a new fuel filter for this Land Cruiser. Those items are included in the sale! The engine turns over great. It runs now when you put gas or starting fluid into the carb. As soon as you install the new fuel pump, you should be good to go. This FJ40 is rusty, however it would be the perfect trail rig or great frame off restoration project. The 1979-1983 FJ40 Land Cruiser's are the ones to have! If you are going to do a full restoration on a Land Cruiser start with this one! It will save you money in the long run. I have also found other items for restoration at great prices. (For example, I found a new rust free hood and different bib panel for $220.00. I will help winner purchase these items if they wish.) This FJ40 has very nice original interior. The rear jump seats are like new! The front seats are in great condition except for the drivers seat bottom cushion. Restore this FJ40 and have one of the most expensive 4X4's on the planet! Or, with a few hours work, drive it as is and have the perfect trail rig at a great price. Low price 1979 and newer FJ40 Land Cruiser's do not come around very often, do not miss your chance to buy this one! |

Toyota to drop regular-cab Tacoma as small pickups take another hit
Fri, 02 Aug 2013Even as General Motors prepares to redesign its midsize pickups, the market for sub-fullsize trucks continues to shrink. The remaining competitors in the segment are the well-aged Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma, and now Truck Trend is reporting that the latter will be dropping its regular cab model due to poor sales.
According to the article, the available configurations for the Tacoma lineup will be whittled down in 2015, which apparently spells the end for the two-door Taco. The Tacoma is currently the last truck in its class to be offered in a regular cab configuration, with the Frontier no longer offering a standard cab model and spy shots of the next-gen Chevrolet Colorado not revealing any glimpse of a short cab, either.
Toyota Prius + gets refresh in UK, is it coming here?
Fri, 10 Oct 2014Toyota has unveiled a mid-cycle refresh of its seven-passenger, UK-market Prius +, known here in the US as the five-passenger Prius V. The revised hybrid MPV now boasts looks inspired by Toyota's more aggressive compact stylings as seen on its new Yaris and Aygo - particularly in the redone front fascia.
The new LED headlights are the most obvious change, sporting a sharper style, while the vertical slats that bookend front fascia are much larger and deeper, and are now home to LED running lights. The lower grille is also newly enlarged and trimmed in black plastic. Changes out back are far less noticeable, with the biggest tweak being a new diffuser that's been integrated into the rear bumper.
The interior gets a light freshening, too, with fresh trimmings around the switchgear, as well as a new 4.2-inch TFT display in the center mounted instrument cluster. The latter includes a new "Eco Judge" function designed to help owners drive more efficiently through a point-based reward system.
Toyota headed to New York with 2014 Highlander, revised Scion tC
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Toyota has given us a look at what the company will bring to the 2013 New York Auto Show. Visitors will get to set their eyes upon the all-new 2014 Highlander, and while the automaker isn't saying much in the way of details, we do get the teaser you see above (click to enlarge) to ponder on until next week. The image shows little more than a headlamp and a bit of grille, but gives us the flavor of what the crossover will bring to the table.
Scion, meanwhile, says it plans to dust off the "new 2014 tC sports coupe." While we don't imagine the two door will have undergone a major surgery, we're interested to see what the automaker has cooked up. The tC last endured a redesign in 2011. Check out the brief press release below and look for the vehicles to bow on March 28.Y
