1976 Toyota Landcruiser Fj40, V8, 5spd Nv4500, Very Clean Survivor, Pto Winch on 2040-cars
Pueblo, Colorado, United States
Very clean 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser with a Chevy 350c.i. V8 and a NV4500 5 speed transmission which is adapted to the original Toyota transfer case. This FJ40 has minimal rust and is equipped with a rare factory PTO winch. The engine swap was nicely done. Everything is correct from the exhaust to the motor mounts to the radiator (not a cobbled together hack job). Truck has 107500 miles on the clock. Runs, drives and stops excellent. The engine/trans swap was done a few years back and has proven reliable. The V8 and 5 speed trans allows this vehicle to be driven daily. It has the power to keep up with traffic in town and the 5th gear to keep up on the highway. Truck spent its entire life in the town of Canon City in Colorado. It was used but not abused. It is all original besides the engine swap and a rifle rack inside the drivers door. The original jack, tool bag, trouble light that plugs into the glove box, and owners manuals are still with the truck. I have the original sales receipt from Toyota Town Inc. Drive Train Chevy 350ci with an aluminum intake, Edelbrock carb and EFI. Engine runs strong and sounds healthy. Dual Flowmaster exhaust sounds great. Transmission is the desirable and bullet proof NV4500 5 speed adapted to the original Toyota transfer case. Shifts great, clutch excellent. Truck stops well with power disc brakes. Axles are original with original gearing. PTO winch works but has not seen much use, so the clutch lever is a bit stiff and needs some lube and love. Truck does not leak oil on the driveway. Body Original paint with that weird FJ40 fade. Cool patina. Some rust but very minimal for a FJ40. Floors are ridiculously clean and rust free and so are the doors. A few dings but over all pretty straight. Windows go up and down good but regulators are a bit sticky. Con-Fer rail mount roof rack. Interior Seats are nice original material, drivers seat has a small tear. Dash is clean but two Autometer gauges have been installed. They were installed neatly. Gauges work. Lights, signals, horn, wipers, heater controls work as they should. Headliner is gone. Rear heater is developing a leak (only when heat is on) and will need to be fixed eventually. I can bypass it if the winning bidder chooses to drive the FJ home. Tires/Wheels Wheels are original with original hub caps. Tires are near new 31x10.50 KM2 BF Goodrich mud terrains. They have a few hundred miles on them. The matching spare is still brand new. Overall a nice clean start to a restoration, or a very cool driver the way it is. The truck shows signs of use but not abuse. Whoever installed the V8 knew what they were doing and obviously cared about the end results. It is not currently registered or insured, but if you are up for an adventure I believe you could fly out, throw your gear in the back, and drive it home. I can meet the buyer at the Colorado Springs airport with the truck. Below is a link to 145 pictures. I believe I have covered every part of the vehicle. Call with questions at 719-557-1755 anytime. If you need to see something not covered in the pics just call and I will text what you need. http://s470.photobucket.com/user/TimothyHannon/library/1976%20Landcruiser?sort=3&page=1 I would like a $500.00 deposit within 24hrs of auction close, and full payment within 48hrs unless otherwise arranged through me.

Watch this video diary of a 900-hp Toyota Supra build
Sat, 08 Jun 2013If you've ever looked at a car with nearly 1,000 horsepower and wondered why anyone needs that amount of thrust, you may want to take a look at the video below. In it, one gentleman details his descent into Toyota Supra madness, starting with a pristine factory example and stumbling down the rabbit hole of modification. What makes this particular clip interesting is just how honest the owner is as he explains the evolution of his car. He doesn't just prattle off a list of parts like he's reading the menu at an IHOP.
Instead, he painstakingly pulls us through the car's growth, detailing each iteration and what pushed him to the next stage of the build every time. From this point of view, it looks less like someone walked into a shop and lit a massive stack of $100 bills on fire and more like a quasi-logical progression of events. Or at least it does to me. You can check out the build in the video below, complete with plenty of Fast and the Furious references and racing. Win, win, win.
Oh Buoy! Toyota sinks to Spongebob depths with custom Highlander
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The launch of the 2014 Toyota Highlander is being assisted by Bikini Bottom's number one resident, SpongeBob SquarePants. The new crossover has been wrapped with SpongeBob's square mug all over it as if he's saying "I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready," from every direction. Inside is a cabin that Toyota says "captures all of the beloved character's high-octane energy," but might make you question whether this is really the world you want to live in.
Revealed on SpongeBob Day at the San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants baseball game in San Diego, CA on July 13, the Highlander will go from there to seven locations nationwide on a "Happy Driving Tour," ending at the LA Auto Show in November.
You can read all about it in the press release below, as well as ways to fill your life with more SpongeBob than is probably healthy.
