THIS TOYOTA LANDCRUISER FJ40 WAS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT FROM REYNOLDS TOYOTA IN SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA. A FEW YEARS WEET BY AND  IT WAS THEN SOLD FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNERS(FOR MORE THAN THEY PURCHSED IT FOR FROM THE DEALERSHIP) TO A FELLOW WHO TOOK THE CRUISER UP INTO WYOMING AND DID SOME MODIFICATIONS TO IT. NOW THE STORY GETS VERY INTERESTING. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CRUISER IT WAS PRESENTED WITH JUST 19,000 ORIGINAL MILES BECAUSE IT SAT FOR YEARS AND YEARS. NOW I CANT SAY THAT IS FOR SURE THE CORRECT MILEAGE BECAUSE I DONT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION TO BACK IT UP. BUT WHETHER IT IS 19,000 OR 119,000 IT IS PRETTY NICE FOR BEING 38 YEARS OLD. SO I WILL LET YOU DECIDE.

OK LETS GET TO THE CRUISER. THIS CRUISER IS DUNE BIEGE WITH MOST OF THE ORIGINAL PAINT IT HAS BEEN TOUCHED UP HERE AND THERE.

EXTERIOR:

THE BODY ITSELF IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH VERY MINOR RUST IN THE VERY BACK ON BOTH REAR FENDERS. THE FLOOR PAN OR THE BODY IS NOT RUSTED OUT ANY WHERE ELSE. NO MAJOR DENTS OR DINGS. IT HAS A 9000 LB RAMSEY WINCH. TIRES ARE BFG ALL TERRAIN TIRES THAT ARE LIKE NEW.

INTERIOR:

IT HAS THE ORIGNAL JACK SET UP. THE INTERIOR IS IN OK SHAPE: THE HEADLINER LOOKS GOOD, THE FRONT SEATS HAVE SEAT COVERS BUT THE DRIVERS SIDE IS WORN THROUGH AND RIPPED,  DRIVERS SIDE BACK SEAT IS WORN AND RIPPED WITH SOME PATCH WROK ON IT. PASSENGER SIDE RARE SEAT IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. THE FLOOR RUBBER IS IN GREAT SHAPE THOUGHTOUT WHICH IS ORIGINAL, ALL 3 FOOT PEADALS SHOW LITTLE TO NO WEAR AT ALL. DASH PAD IS CRACKED IN A FEW SPOTS FROM SITTING IN THE SUN. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL FRONT AND  REAR HEATERS. STEERING WHEEL IS IN PERFECT CONDITION, ROLL BAR LOOKS GREAT.

DRIVETRAIN:

IT HAS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE COMPARTMENT FAN FOR CALIFORNIA CRUISERS. HAS THE ORIGINAL 2F MOTOR THAT HAS A HOLLEY 2 BARRELL CARB AND THE HEI DISTRIBUTOR. ORIGINAL 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION, ORIGINAL FRONT AND REAR DIFFS, WARN LOCKING HUBS.

UNDERCARRIGE:

EVERYTHING UNDER LOOKS TO BE IN GREAT SHAPE WITH NO MAJOR RUST OR CONCERN.

I ALSO HAVE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL AND OWNERS GUIDE. THIS IS A VERY SOUND CRUISER. THIS CRUISER IS NOT PERFECT BY ALL MEANS BUT AGAIN IT IS 38 YEARS OLD AND ORIGINAL. THIS AUCTION IS AN AS IS WHERE IS WITH NO SELLER WARRANTIES. HATE TO SEE THIS RIG GO. GOOD LUCK BIDDING AND CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS 801-635-8626 ZACH THANKS

Toyota FCV Concept comes one step closer to reality

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

When Toyota first conceptualized a gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle for mainstream Americans to drive, the initial response was pretty skeptical. Still, through relentless engineering and solid product after solid product, Toyota has built the Prius brand into the dominant force in the hybrid car market.
Something like that plan of attack is what the Japanese company is preparing for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, as well, and that attack is seeing a critical salvo fired today with the debut of this FCV Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Though there's nothing substantive to be said about rumors of a 300-mile range or a sticker price around $50,000, the FCV concept does offer a few technical details. The sharp-beaked concept makes use of two high-pressure hydrogen tanks and boasts a power output density of three kilowatts per liter.

Toyota updates 86 in Japan with this weird special edition

Wed, Feb 11 2015

In their constant drive for perfection, Japanese automakers Toyota and Subaru have both announced some minor updates for their jointly produced sports car specifically for their domestic market. Both the Toyota 86 (known in these parts as the Scion FR-S) and the Subaru BRZ are getting a revised version of the electric power steering system they were designed with in the first place as well as a reworked suspension. The more intriguing news, though, is the strange restyling Toyota is offering on the 86 Style Cb edition. Ditching the aggressively angular front end of the existing model, this special edition gets rounded headlamps and an extended nose to give it a much less severe face. The Toyota 86 Style Cb is also being offered with an optional two-tone paint scheme and gets unique LED turning indicator strips, a special badge on the bulbous snout and revised interior trim. We'll chalk it up to a matter of personal taste, but as far as JDM specials go, this special edition isn't one over which we'll be terribly disappointed if it never makes it to US showrooms. We'll be sure to keep you posted if and when any of the mechanical updates make the trip across the Pacific, though. Related Video:

Toyota FCV rallies to the hydrogen cause as zero car

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

It's been two decades since Toyota dominated the World Rally Championship with its Celica Turbo 4WD. But this past weekend, Toyota hit the rally stage in a very different vehicle.
That, as you can see, is the Japanese automaker's Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV), which is still in its prototype phase. We're still at least half a year away from seeing the FCV in production trim, but the model has already been pressed into duty as the "zero car" at the Shinshiro Rally, the last round of the Japanese Rally Championship.
The zero car, for those unfamiliar, is to rally what a pace or safety car is to circuit racing, driving the rally stage to check for signs of trouble before the competitors put their feet to the floor, so it's not as if the FCV needed extensive modifications. From the looks of things, it just needed some jazzy stripes, mud flaps, probably different rolling stock and an interior with racing buckets and harnesses, roll cage, radio equipment and maybe a bit more ground clearance.
