1974 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj-40 on 2040-cars
Poolesville, Maryland, United States
A Stunning and rare 1974, the Coolest FJ-40 year ever with the added stock 4 speed trans (3 speed in prior
years) and the remaining Hatchback rear doors (went to the dual ambulance doors with no open while driving ability
in 1975)! I had a professional Major Renovation Frame-Off, New Replacement Full Tub…done and completed 2005/6 by
Iron Pig of VA. Easily $60K invested! All painted Factory KTM Orange as individual parts at time of restoration by
Iron Pig’s preferred painter! A True Beauty who drives as good as she looks! Since all is almost better than
perfect I will list what is missing or in complete: One paint spot on hood showing signs of a potential to chip
(see pic). No stereo, rear seats Not install but comes with a nice pair with a special brackets to fit outside of
the roll bar. Rear heater missing (I have one but not that attractive but can be purchased separately if
interested), vent hose to windshield air defrost missing. Skid plate missing. Stock engine with maybe original
miles all checks out and runs good! (I was going to but a LT1 fuel injected in next…) All 4 wheel drive functions
work great, locking hubs, trans smooth will do 70+mph. I have a video showing drive, climbing, braking and speed I
can send you! Power steering works great (a must feature!). Full new tire tread life from new (maybe 2500mi on
them) Would prefer to have interested buyer come and drive her in person prior to buying… I have bought almost a
dozen vehicles w/o driving and have had some great luck but if possible come on over and take her for a ride! Front
wheel disk brakes stops amazing, parking brake great too! Great seals all around, no leaks. Windows a bit stiff to
operate but with all new parts and seals (unfortunately the front small vent windows do not open due to the
position of custom roll cage). Custom bucket seats with a Tuffy center console with all kinds of storage. Stock
under driver seat full size storage compartment. Many, many top quality parts and on going maintenance invested in
this very tough beauty!

Toyota Harrier gets a whale of a facelift [w/video]
Thu, 21 Nov 2013Historically, the Toyota Harrier has been a doppelgänger for North America's Lexus RX - at some points, it was little more than a badge-swap and a few options away, at least aesthetically. That appears to be changing with this just-revealed new generation at the Tokyo Motor Show.
That's because this two-row, five-seat Toyota is in possession of a bold new look, dominated by a jutting, baleen-like grille edged in chrome, along with new headlamps and fascia. The greenhouse has likewise been revamped and gotten more pointed at the rump, which has new taillights, a resurfaced tailgate and a faux rear diffuser. Were it to be ported over to North American Lexus dealers intact, the Harrier's look would be jarring in light of the brand's spindle-grille-based design language, so we suspect that if the RX gets any of these updates (it was just refreshed for 2013), it will strike out on a different path visually.
Unlike the US RX, the new Harrier will rely on smaller-displacement four-cylinder engines, namely a 2.0-liter paired with a continuously variable transmission or a 2.5-liter four backed up by an electric motor. We'd like to see a smaller-displacement option for the US RX (it presently runs with 3.5-liter V6 engines in both gas-only and hybrid guise), but suspect it won't arrive until the next all-new model.
Toyota's Copen GR Sport is a tiny, racy roadster
Tue, Oct 15 2019In its home market, Toyota has a designated sport brand called GR, which is meant to invoke Toyota's Gazoo Racing division. It has three tiers of sportiness: the entry-level GR Sport, GR, and all-out range-topping GRMN. Ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota announced it is adding to its GR Sport lineup a new mini convertible called the Copen GR Sport. Toyota pulled the Copen from Daihatsu's bank of cool minicars. Diahatsu announced its own Copen GR Sport at the Tokyo Auto Salon in early 2019. Now Toyota will sell its own hotted-up version of the tiny roadster. Toyota Gazoo Racing tweaked the new model and gave it sportier equipment and a visual update inside and out. First, let's talk basic stats. The Copen GR Sport weighs roughly 2,000 pounds and has a 0.66-liter turbocharged engine that makes 63 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 68 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm. It's front-wheel drive and is available with a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with seven-speed Super Active Shift and paddle shifters. Toyota left the powertrain alone and chose to focus on body rigidity and suspension tuning. The Copen GR Sport has specific shock absorbers, updated spring rates, retuned power steering, a new front brace, and a redesigned center brace. Toyota made the Copen a bit more visually aggressive as well. It has a unique front bumper with side air intakes, a larger front grille, and a rear bumper with a new diffuser look. It also comes with matte gray BBS forged-aluminum wheels, LED headlights, LED fog lights, and LED taillights. GR Sport emblems on the front, side, and rear assure passers-by this is not a regular Copen. In total, eight exterior colors are available, as are multiple color options for the roof. The black interior was spruced up with Recaro sport seats with GR embroidery, a MOMO leather-wrapped steering wheel with the GR emblem, piano black accents, and a new GR instrument cluster with red accents. Unfortunately, the pint-sized roadster is only available in Japan.
2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 4
Fri, 28 Jun 2013The fourth and final practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is complete. Tomorrow everyone will make any last-minute adjustments and get their cars, their bits and bobs lined up in the pits for Sunday morning's this-time-it-counts run.
The Unlimited runners took on the top section of the course today, Sébastien Loeb and his big-mouth Peugeot acing the practice test again with a time of 2:11. Rhys Millen's team proved its got the engine issues of two days ago in the Hyundai PM580T sorted out, posting the next-best time at 2:27.16. The reason we had to dip all the way into the hundredths for his time is because he nipped Romain Dumas by just .31 of them, the Frenchman in the Norma M20FC PP running the course in 2:27.47. In fourth came the Frenchman in the monster Mini, Jean-Philippe Dayraut six seconds back at 2:33.
Time Attack competitors, also on the upper section, were led by Paul Dallenbach in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a time of 2:36, Porsche pilot Jeff Zwart crossing the line six seconds later at 2:42, fellow Porsche driver David Donner coming in another six seconds back at 2:48. Dallenbach has topped three of the four practice-day sessions, sliding into the second spot behind Donner only on Practice Day 2.
