THIS ITEM WAS SOLD ON EBAY A COUPLE WEEKS AGO BUT THE BUYER DID NOT PAY.

I am selling my 1970 Toyota fj40. Has a rebuilt chevy small block 400 motor. Starts up every time. Leave for 6 months and come back and she starts right up. I have owned it for 4 years and have never had a problem with it. Has a 5" lift with new 35" tires and 18"wheels.  Magna flow dual exhaust. Bed liner throughout the cabin that looks perfect and brand new. Roll cage from the front of the Fj to the back tires wheel wells. Fenders are bolted into the roll bar. Interior is a 9 out of a 10. not sure what i have to do to make it a 10 out of 10, just being modest. The canopy is in great shape. Its painted in a flat black and in the interior ceiling it is sprayed in white rhino lining.  No keys to start this baby. All race car start with switches and a hidden kill switch. 3 speed Automatic. Aluminum half doors that nobody has. power steering. Eye catching car. Since i have owned it and painted it, it has never seen any off road. If you are looking for an off roader this car is ready to go, might be a little to nice to beat up though.  But if you want to make it a show car its  pretty close. I purchased the fj in oregon and had it shipped down to Az. Previous owner built the fj to be a off roader but my intentions were to get it to perfect and have it be a daily driver and look flawless. was well on my way but decided to buy another project (67 mustang fastback) and all my funds went towards the stang. Reason for selling is that i would like make the mustang my sole focus so i can get it to where i want it to be. The fj has been very reliable for me. Put around 2000 miles on it 4 years. Didnt drive it too much. But when i did drive the fj it was great. Motor and exhaust sound beefy and mean. I drove it all over the valley in phoenix az. Drove great on the highway, just cruised at 55 to 60.  All and all this is a great looking Fj that has a straight as can be body in exception of one tiny dent on the front drivers side fender

minor flaws
The turn signal switch is a little quirky, it works but you have to hold it a certain way. Back right tail light works when you push your breaks but not when the car is just on with lights on. Minor cracks in paint in a couple places. Fenders will need to be re painted, due to some cracks in the paint from storage. Rarely had the fenders on, i liked the way it looked without them. looks like some of the chrome on the headers is coming off.   All of these flaws are very minor, like it said earlier if u want a show car this is very close to being what you need. If you have any questions just give me a call at 480-621-0888 or email through ebay. I have more than 15k into it but i know the market for these doesnt sell where i could break even. So hopefully it goes ok so i dont loose too much. Have fun my name is Aaron Good Luck

Toyota and Suzuki partner up on autonomy with capital alliance

Wed, Aug 28 2019

TOKYO — Toyota and Suzuki will take small equity stakes in each other, the Japanese car makers said on Wednesday, as they seek to develop newer technologies and meet sweeping changes upending the global auto industry. The tie-up is the latest example of automakers chasing scale to manage costs and boost development. Automakers — especially smaller ones like Suzuki — are struggling to meet the breakneck growth of an industry transformed by the rise of electric vehicles (EVs), ride-hailing and autonomous driving. Toyota will pay around 96 billion yen ($908 million) for a 4.94% stake in Suzuki, while Suzuki will acquire in the market around 48 billion yen ($454 million) worth of shares in Toyota. That is equivalent to 0.2% of Toyota's shares as of Wednesday's closing price, before the announcement. The companies said in a joint statement they intended to overcome challenges facing the industry by "building and deepening cooperative relationships in new fields while continuing to be competitors". They said they would strengthen technologies and products in which each of them specialize in. The firms had said in 2016 they were exploring a partnership, citing technological challenges and the need to keep up with industry consolidation. Earlier this year they said they would produce EVs and compact cars for each other. Automakers around the globe have been joining forces to slash development and manufacturing costs of new technology. Ford and Volkswagen have said they will spend billions of dollars to jointly develop electric and self-driving vehicles. Shares of Toyota and Suzuki closed little changed before the announcement. TOYOTA'S ORBIT The deal brings Suzuki firmly into Toyota' orbit, alongside Daihatsu, Hino Motors, Subaru, Mazda and Yamaha. Rival Nissan has an alliance with France's Renault, although that has been shaken following the ouster of former Chairman Carlos Ghosn, and with Mitsubishi Motors. Honda has a tie-up with General Motors. Toyota has been looking to expand scale in next-generation technology and said this year it would offer free access to patents for EV motors and power control units. It believes that move would help it cut by as much as half the outlays for expanded electric and hybrid vehicle components in the United States, China and Japan. Supplying rivals would greatly expand the scale of production for hardware.

Hyundai Prius-fighting hybrid spied wearing new camo

Wed, Jul 22 2015

Hyundai's engineers certainly don't want the public to see its upcoming dedicated hybrid model in several of these new spy shots, but the company can't deny that the machine is on the way. These test cars were first spotted last summer as Prius-like five-door hatchbacks. However in these photos and the second set, it would seem that the model has morphed into a more sedan-like shape similar to the Chevy Volt. Unlike the last time we saw this car during arctic testing, the vehicle no longer is covered in plastic concealment. That obfuscation has been replaced with a very effective camo pattern on everything but the roof, and in several photos, workers are actively standing in the way of the spy shooters' lenses. Beyond the whole model's general shape, there are a few details to pick out, though. You can easily spot the outline of the brand's hexagonal grille up front. There appears to be a rather complicated air dam design there, too. In profile, the shape of the rear hatch creates an integrated spoiler at the back. While the camouflage makes it very hard to tell, we don't see a plug-in port on this example. According to our spies, this test car was being driven with a slew of other electrified models, including a BMW i3, Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen e-Golf, and Kia Soul EV. Given that group, perhaps the engineers were specifically benchmarking the electric performance for this outing. Earlier reports suggest that Hyundai's latest hybrid could debut in the second half of 2016. Power reportedly comes from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with hybrid assistance and a lithium-ion battery. Plug-in and five-door hatchback versions are also rumored.

Toyota Hilux successor spotted

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The midsize truck segment is suddenly seemingly exploding with new vehicles worldwide, even here in North America. Not only will the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon be available very soon, Toyota is already testing a replacement for its aging Tacoma and Honda has promised a Ridgeline replacement within the next 18 months. Also, the recently shown Nissan Navara is said to portend the future of our Frontier. Here's some more fresh evidence from Europe of this pickup boom with the next generation of its venerable Hilux in testing.
Thanks to Top Gear and sometimes the evening news, the Hilux has built a reputation of being able to go just about anywhere. According to out spy shooter, this particular pickup was spotted during hot weather testing in southern Europe. Interestingly, a Volkswagen Amarok was along for the ride as a benchmark. Because the VW tends to offer a bit more comfort than the generally utilitarian Hilux, this could indicate Toyota is considering taking the new truck in a slightly comfier, more refined direction.
Compared to the current model, this camouflaged tester sports a narrower front grille and headlights. The hood scoop is also absent here. The lower air dam also receives a more horizontal look, but the more vertical fog light housings provide some contrast. The crazy camouflage pattern makes things hard to discern at the rear, but the taillights appear to be more slender than they on the current model. Unfortunately, mechanical details about the new truck remain a mystery at the moment, but enjoy these spy shots as a preview of one more upcoming pickup.
