1965 Toyota Fj-45 Landcruiser Troopy 4x4 Wagon: Rare Fj45lv, Nice Body! on 2040-cars
Eureka, Montana, United States
I CAN TALK ON THE PHONE IF YOU'D LIKE, AND I CAN MAKE A DEAL ON IT EARLY AT ANY TIME. THANKS 1965 TOYOTA FJ-45 4x4 WAGON These FJ45 wagons are super rare and have a high value when restored. If you going to fix something up, these are great because they are worth more and hold their value well. This fj needs full resto but has a great body for restoration. The exterior is rust free and it is really straight overall. It is 99.99% complete and appears original. This landcruiser was most likely bought new in my hometown. I bought it from a local person that I know that has had it since 1982. It hasn't been titled since then. He bought it from another local gentleman, who I also knew. It hasn't been licensed since 1986. I've looked on ebay alot and other places online, and there are usually very few if any for sale like this. Here are all the details. I have many more pics I can send if you'd like. You can use the ebay system or my email address below. Thanks. TUDDY5@MSN.COM BODY The toyota needs full restoration but it is very sound. There is NO exterior rust or anything close to rust. U was told this body may be galvanized. I don't know about that, but I do know that the exterior is rust free. The body is very straight with the exception of a ding in each rear fender, bent tailgate, and bent hood. Reproduction hoods are probably readily available and the same as an fj40. The doors, fenders, quarters, roof, frame, etc. etc. are nice. Sills, rockers, jams are nice. Dash is uncut. The seats look original. The cargo area and wheelhouses are in nice shape. Tailgate and rear jam have no rust. Tailgate is bent, but does open/close. Other doors open/close and latch. Front floorpans has rust in front of and behind the seat. Front clip, firewall, header, and frame are rust free. Frame VIN matches the vin tag. Passenger side rear side window is included but not in it. It is in good shape and will be packaged before the toyota is shipped. Transmission cover is off, but is included and uncut. Originally a column shift which is still in it, but now has a floor shifter. Overall, a very nice body for restoration but does need the floorpan work. They probably sell re-production pieces but a bodyman could fab it easily anyways. MECHANICAL The toyota has what I'm sure is the original six cylinder engine. Everything mechanical appears original. If it matters to you, I can check the numbers on it. I worked on getting this running but I believe it needs carb work and/or ignition work. It turns over and I had it firing, but never got it started. I needed it out of my shop so I stopped working on it and never got back to it. I can't say for sure if the motor will be usable or not, or need rebuilt. Transmission is most likely the original, but now has a floor shifter. Original cover is included. The vehicle steers and tires hold air. I do not believe the brakes work. Driveline that is pictured laying in the back is not for this vehicle. INTERIOR The interior appears all original and needs full restoration. Seats appear original. Dash is uncut and gauges all look original. THIS VEHICLE IS USED, OLD, AND SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY. IT NEED RESTORATION AND DOESN'T RUN. |

Toyota recalling FJ Cruiser due to excessively bright headlights
Sun, 05 May 2013Now, hold on. This recall isn't quite as serious as it sounds. Yes, Toyota is recalling 11,489 FJ Cruiser models from the 2007 to 2013 model years, and yes, it's because the vehicles, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states, "fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, 'Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.'" But read the fine print and you'll see the catch: This recall is only for vehicles fitted with the automaker's auxiliary lighting kit that can be mounted to the front bumper.
Basically, the auxiliary lamp assemblies use 55-watt bulbs, and when these are turned on in conjunction with the upper beam headlamps, it's a pretty blinding sight. NHTSA states that excessively bright lights can blind other drivers, increasing the risk for a crash.
To remedy the situation, Toyota will replace the 55-watt bulbs with cooler 35-watt units. The recall is expected to begin later this month. Scroll down for the full details in the NHTSA report.
Toyota's Psy-style Waku-Doki ad inherits Japan's bizarre ad crown
Tue, 29 Jul 2014A new Japanese Toyota ad featuring crisply suited businessmen driving into the jungle only to segue into a Psy-style music-video dance-off with a gorilla and natives is the latest car commercial to go viral. Jungle Wakudoki is the newest installment in a grand tradition of bizarre ads from the island nation that are by turns hilarious, head-scratching and occasionally even frightening.
Let's face it: My people are weird.
I'm half-Japanese and take suitable pride in my Asian roots, but even I can't figure out what's been slipped into the water coolers of the country's ad agencies much of the time - or the nation at large, for that matter. From Japan's ubiquitous obsession with all things adorable (kawaii) to its offbeat sense of humor and its bizarrely perverse and violent tentacle porn, it's clear there's a lot going on in the culture, and only some of it bubbles up to the surface in its marketing efforts. Much of the strangest and most amazing ads are for non-transportation products (e.g. laundry soap, snacks, energy drinks), but the automotive space has its fair share. This latest Toyota ad had me trawling YouTube for a common theme, trying to make sense of why these spots are the way they are. Scroll down to watch the Toyota ad in question as well as a bunch of other examples of Japan's most bizarre car-related ads and see if you can't find the thread that runs between them. Is it just that something's being lost in translation? Have your say in Comments.
