UP for sale is a 1964 toyota landcruiser fj45 swb pickup. This california truck has been in a storage locker for 25 years! It consisted of the complete cab, bed, front clip, pretty much everything but the frame and running gear.It now sits on a 66 fj45 wagon frame and running gear. This is a great start to a major project and all body parts are ready to be blasted and rust issues fixed. The frame and running gear are super solid with alot of original paint on the frame still. No rust through anywhere, all superficial surface rust. The f engine is original down to the factory stickers and is a good runner as is the 3 spd trans and transfercase. It was running 6 months ago but the carb needs a float. The cab is solid, roof has minor inside gutter rust, some bondo work, has rocker panel rust but the floors are solid. The bed has some rust through at the bed side supports, nothing major and the rear corners and rear sil all have the usual rust issues, again the bed floor is in good shape.Tailgate is straight, all hardware is there, very minor inside lower rust. The doors are super solid, even the bugcatcher weatherstrip is in good shape(regulators have issues).I have all the knobs and switches, cluster, ashtray, lights, gas tank, bezel, wiper motors, arms, rear sliding windows,(weatherstrip is in poor shape)all the 3 on the tree linkage,4wd linkage and vacuum unit, almost everything to do a proper restoration. It still retains the wagon rear gas tank as well. Please note this is a project, cab and bed are sitting on the frame and the bed will need a few supports moved for proper retention. This will carry the wagon frame and vin tag which have been out of the dmv system for years and will be sold with a bill of sale(will need a vin verification to retitle. Vehicle is sold as is, and there will be NO RESERVE!! Highest bid takes it home! Thanks and please be serious and have good feedback, will help load onto trailer.

2014 Toyota Tundra
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Raising A White Flag To The Competition
We all benefit from highly competitive battles. In the automotive sector, few campaigns are so closely fought as the decades-long struggle for supremacy in the fullsize half-ton pickup truck segment. The Ford F-150 has dominated for ages, but Chevrolet, Ram and GMC have been closing the gap with freshly redesigned trucks that are rocking the industry.
Today's half-ton trucks are better than they've ever been, and we have fierce competition to thank for that.
Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014
Sun, 27 Oct 2013While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 - a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.
Interestingly, the article also cites another publication reporting that a Toyota importer in the Netherlands heard the same news as Bez, and it has already stopped importing the cars. If the European Toyota iQ is cancelled, that would likely spell the end of the slow-selling Scion iQ in the US, which has sold just 3,365 units through September (a drop of 51 percent year over year).
Regardless of why production of the Cygnet ended, Bez also says that a lack of support from Toyota on the project prevented it from being offered in the US or receiving a supercharged engine, which are two factors that likely would have made the car appealing to more buyers.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda will work together on hydrogen filling stations
Thu, Feb 12 2015Japan's own version of the Big Three is taking on a transportation effort that's a far cry from the large-engined history of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. In fact, Toyota, Nissan and Honda are looking to do their part – and maybe a little more – for the environment by working together to collaborate on accelerating the deployment of hydrogen fuel delivery in Japan. More refueling stations means more convenience for prospective hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle owners. Toyota says the specifics, including investment amount and the number of stations to be deployed, will be "determined at a later date." Still, the effort dovetails with that of the Japanese government. That government announced a so-called Strategic Road Map for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells last June and subsequently said it would start offering about $20,000 worth of incentives for fuel cell vehicle buyers. In December, Toyota started selling its first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle, the Mirai, in Japan and said it would almost triple production to 2,000 vehicles in 2016 from 700 this year. Last month, the Tokyo government began talks with Toyota and Honda to collaborate on ensuring that there'd be at least 6,000 fuel-cell vehicles on Japan's roads in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Tokyo officials are looking to have 100,000 fuel-cell vehicles on the city's roads by 2025. Check out Toyota's press release below. Toyota, Nissan, and Honda to Jointly Support Hydrogen Station Infrastructure Development Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. have agreed to work together to help accelerate the development of hydrogen station infrastructure for fuel cell vehicles (FCVs). Specific measures to be undertaken by the three manufacturers will be determined at a later date. For hydrogen-fueled FCVs to gain popularity, it is not only important that attractive products be launched-hydrogen station infrastructure must also be developed. At present, infrastructure companies are making every effort to build such an infrastructure, but they face difficulties in installing and operating hydrogen stations while FCVs are not common on the road. Following the formulation of its Strategic Road Map for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in June 2014, the Japanese government has highlighted the importance of developing hydrogen station infrastructure as quickly as possible in order to popularize FCVs.
