Hi,

I recently accepted a new position that will provide me with a company car so I no longer need my beloved 2003 Toyota Highlander 4WD :( It was purchased as a certified pre-owned vehicle from Page Toyota in Southfield, MI on 12/23/2010. I purchased a 5yr/100K mile transferable warranty with the vehicle as well and it covers you for the next 22 months and 58,000 miles. I have all records and receipts for all service that was done including all the oil changes done every 5,000-7,000 miles (per user manual) with synthetic only! I was very anal about keeping this beautiful SUV in tip top shape and no expenses were spared.

Service Completed:
June 6th, 2011 - (80,570 miles) Transmission fluid flush, Induction flush, New front differential seal, 4WD Service, New water pump and belt and New timing belt (covered under warranty)
September 15th, 2012 - (96,492 miles) New rear brake calipers, rotors and pads
July 22nd, 2013 - (105,000 miles) New front brake rotors and pads
Valvoline Synthetic Oil Changes every 5000-7000 miles per Toyota User Manual (I have all the receipts from Mr Tire)

Car Details:
2003 Toyota Highlander, 3.0 V6, 4WD
114,000 miles
Silver Exterior and Grey Cloth Interior
Automatic Transmission
8-Way Power Drivers Seat
Auto-up, Auto-down Drivers Window
Remote Starter Security System installed (Temporarily disabled but works, I have all the remotes)
Truck Liner and rubber floor mats all around
Compass/Thermometer Rear View Mirror
16" Alloy Wheels with rugged tires (Winter wheels/tires, 30,000 miles left on them, currently in use but beat up pretty bad)
Optional - Second Gen Highlander Sport 19" Wheels/Tires (Summer wheels, needs new tires, off vehicle) Not included in this auction.  Additional $500

First off this vehicle is 4WD meaning 50/50 power to the front and rear wheels and it is permanent (no 2WD option). This is one of the few Highlanders that is actually good off road and is absolutely amazing (and fun) in the snow!

To say I love this SUV would be an understatement! It has literally been the best purchase I have ever made! It's the little things and the comfort that made me fall in love with it like the auto-up/down window (still not standard these days why?), standard 8 way power seat (so comfortable) and the standard compass and temp in the rear view mirror. The quality of this SUV is unparalleled to any other. Not a single squeak! Anyway, if you are interested in taking it for a test drive let me know.

Car will be professionally detailed before it is delivered.  The vehicle is currently located in Arlington, VA 22201.

Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Cheers,
Chris

Fri, Aug 23 2019

In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder and Assistant Editor Zac Palmer. Our editors cover a lot this week, starting with the news. They geek out over the Audi RS6 Avant coming to America, and mourn the loss of the Lincoln Continental. They address rumors of the Toyota Land Cruiser's demise, and analyze spy photos of the Ford Mach E electric crossover. They also honor the memory of the godfather of spy photography, Jim Dunne. Finally, they talk about driving the BMW Z4, Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, and another diesel, the diesel-powered Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv-D. 2014 Toyota Highlander

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

Midsize crossovers like the Toyota Highlander tend to play a thankless role in the life of today's modern family.
That's really too bad. With the ability to hold several hyperactive kids and tons of cargo while keeping everyone safe and comfortable in all kinds of climate conditions day in and day out, they're true heroes in the lives of hundreds of thousands of families across the country. Yet their car-apathetic owners often immediately forget about them as soon as their work is done. And nearly all midsize crossovers are thoroughly ignored by enthusiasts whose eyes begin to glaze over at first mention of the phrase "third row."
Toyota is looking to soften the blow somewhat by giving its midsize crossover, the Highlander, a big redesign for the 2014 model year. With a bold new look, updated suspension and a refreshed interior focused on comfort and convenience, Toyota aims to make the Highlander sportier to drive and more striking in appearance, because, as the marketing team explains, "families are going places and they want to get there in style."

Next Toyota Prius may get optional all-wheel drive

Tue, Jul 15 2014

We've been hearing rumors about the next generation of the Toyota Prius for the last couple of years on a pretty regular basis. From the expectation of lithium-ion battery packs with more capacity for electric-only miles to wireless charging and more emotional styling, there's been no shortage of talking points for the car that's expected to see its first light of day at the very end of 2015 (we hope). But one thing we've yet to hear about, until now that is, is all-wheel drive. According to a report from Automotive News, Koei Saga, senior managing officer in charge of powertrain development of the Prius, said in an interview last week, "I think we will possibly do [all-wheel drive]" for the car's next generation. There isn't any further indication on how the AWD system would work, but we'd put our money on something similar, at least in principle, to the E-Four system that just debuted on the 2015 Lexus NX 300h, which uses an electric motor mounted at the rear to power the car's back wheels when the front wheels lose traction. The AN report also repeats a rumor we've heard before – that Toyota may offer two different battery pack options in its next Prius, one using lithium-ion chemistry and one using the nickel metal hydride technology that the Prius has featured from its very beginning. While the automaker has yet to talk efficiency, it's natural to expect more capacity for EV driving from newer lithium-based technology over that of nickel-based packs to go along with what we'd also expect would be a somewhat higher price. We're sure you're just as curious about the next Prius as much as we are, and so we'll leave you with these words, again from Saga: "The batteries will be renewed. Everything will be revised. And I think we will come up with a fuel economy that will surprise everyone."
