HERE IS MY 2001 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER. . LAST YEAR I REPLACED THE WHOLE REAR END AND EXAUST SYSTEM. 3 YEARS AGO ALL NEW STRUTS.WERE REPLACED AND A NEW FRONT WINDOW INSTALLED, NEWER STEEL RIMS & TIRES. THE RESON FOR SELLING IS THE MOTOR HAS FAILED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS CAR IS SOLD AS IS AND I ONLY WANT SOMEONE TO HAVE IT THAT WILL RESTORE IT OR USE IT TO RESTORE ANOTHER HIGHLANDER, THE BODY HAS NO DAMAGE AND NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE REAR PASAGER SIDE DOOR HAS A SMALL DENT WHERE MY SON LET IT HIT A BARRIER WHEN HE OPEN THE DOOR. YOU CAN SEE THE PICTURES. Toyota releases its Le Mans recap, 'The Ultimate Endurance Race'
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Two weeks ago, Audi released its short video about this years 24 Hours of Le Mans, and now Toyota has put the experience into its own words and pictures. Called The Ultimate Endurance Race, the clip and accompanying press release focus on how hybrid power helped Toyota claim second and fourth places with the TS030 Hybrid in just its second year competing at Le Mans.
There are some brief scenes of the battles had this year, like when Lucas di Grassi in the Toyota almost kissed Allan McNish in the Audi above, but the best part might be when Toyota promises it will be back. Next year, it's gonna be good. You'll find the relevant words and the images just below.
New drifting world record set in Toyota GT86

Last year, BMW smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest drift by hanging the tail out for 51.3 miles around a wet skid pad in an M5 at the BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina. That beat the previous milestone of nearly seven miles. Now, Bimmer's record is up in smoke as well and is in the possession of a Toyota.
German driver Harald Müller pummeled the old record to drift for 89.55 miles around a 0.15-mile (235.5-meter) course in Samsun, Turkey, in a Toyota GT86 (or Scion FR-S as it's known in the US). According to the Guinness World Records website, it took him 612 laps and 2 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds to manage the achievement. Sit back to watch a few minutes of the German's two and a half hours behind the wheel with the tail out.
Toyota's $1.6B unintended acceleration settlement approved
Sat, 20 Jul 2013Toyota is now one step closer to putting its unintended acceleration woes behind it as it has received approval from the US District Court for the Central District of California to settle loss-of-value claims to vehicles associated with the 2009-2010 recalls.
As we reported back in May, the Toyota settlement is worth $1.63 billion, which, according to Bloomberg, includes a payout of $757 million to affected owners, $227 million to attorneys and an additional $875 million for vehicle upgrades. (We did the math, too, and that totals $1.859 billion, but there is no justification for the discrepancy. Fuzzy math, eh?)
Based on the estimated 22.6 million vehicles said to be included in this suit, that would make the average payment about $33.49 per vehicle, but the article says that owners, lessees and even renters will receive varying amounts ranging from $9.74 up to as much as $10,000. This settlement does not affect suits filed for personal injury or wrongful death.
