I purchased the car with 56k miles about 2.5 years ago in almost exactly the same condition it is today. The only aftermarket items are the easily removed PIAA fog lights and radio antenna. Im selling it because it just doesnt get used enough and Im losing the covered parking for it. It was a daily driver for about a year but I worked from home so it was really used for weekend river trips and highway trips to Dallas / Austin. Never driven or off-roaded hard, but everything works as it should. There are 2 or 3 very small door dings 1/2 cm or less and 2 or 3 small bumper dings. One on front is 1.5 inches, barely visible in photos the rest are very small. Few scrapes in the rear cargo area and theres 3 inch smudge of white on the back of the passenger seat that doesnt seem to want to come off. 2012 FJ Cruiser 4WD Leather Backup Camera Parking Sensors Daytime Lights Convenience Package Tow Package Off-Road Package 4WD Automatic Traction Control VSC Stability Control Locking Diff A-Trac (Traction control for 4-Low in poor traction conditions) Inverter JBL Sound 2nd Adult owner 70,500 miles Plenty of cup holders 4 Adults can take it camping Fully Optioned Factory Carpet Mat Set Front and Rear Factory Rubber Mat Set Front and Rear Factory tire cover Factory luggage rack and rock rails Tires have 14k miles Original Window Sticker All paperwork, incl all gas receipts with mileage since Ive owned it Full synthetic every 5k, currently Royal Purple full syn at 70k

Toyota to buck engine downsizing trend, may go larger and turbo-free
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Turbocharging isn't really Toyota's specialty, and the Japanese automaker isn't being shy about acknowledging it. Koei Saga, a senior managing officer in charge of drivetrain research and development, says that eschewing turbos and increasing displacement of engines using the Atkinson cycle can produce better power gains without sacrificing fuel economy, Automotive News reports.
Toyota is investing heavily in larger-displacement Atkinson-cycle engines in addition to turbocharged engines, but Saga doesn't think the automaker will use turbocharging across many product lines. He apparently remains unconvinced that the technology "makes the world better."
In Toyota's eyes then, Atkinson cycle engines do make the world better, and here's how. Their pistons complete four processes - intake, compression, power and exhaust - in one revolution of the crankshaft, and the power stroke is longer than the compression stroke. Traditional Otto cycle engines require two crankshaft revolutions to accomplish those same four operations and have equal-length compression and power strokes. Atkinson cycle engines are more efficient, but less power dense, though increasing displacement can offset that shortfall.
GM outsold VW globaly in first quarter, Toyota reports numbers next week
Thu, 18 Apr 2013General Motors released its first quarter sales figures this week, reporting that it sold 2.36 million cars and trucks worldwide. That figure represents an increase of 3.6 percent when compared to the same period last year. GM's growth was attributed to many factors, including global Cadillac sales that were up 26 percent and Chevrolet posting a one percent increase over last year (this marked Chevy's tenth straight year of record global sales).
Volkswagen came in just behind GM, as the German automaker reported global sales from January through March at 2.27 million vehicles, an increase of five percent when compared to last year. While that number was strong, VW is cautioning that markets outside China and the US, such as those in Europe, are becoming a challenge as economies falter.
Yet to report sales is Toyota, current holder of the global world sales crown (the Japanese company sold 9.75 million cars last year, against 9.29 million sold by GM and 9.1 million vehicles sold by VW). Even though GM and Toyota both say they don't care who sells the most units, it is unquestionably a strong bragging point and sales equate to revenue. That said, Toyota will report its first quarter numbers next week.
Toyota's Euro Aygo spied in prototype form
Thu, 22 Aug 2013The five-door version of the next-generation Toyota Aygo, a Euro offering cloned by the Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1, has been caught out on the town wearing all black. Facelifted early last year, predictions are that the next version of the city car will be slightly lower and wider than the current car, with improved ergonomics and materials. Based on what little can be seen for now, a new intake and headlight treatment should be on the menu in front, with taillights placed higher on its backside.
A three-door version is expected, but a gasoline-hybrid model is also rumored, along with power and fuel economy improvements to the three-cylinder engine that presently puts out 67 horsepower and 69 pound-feet of torque.
We should see it next year, along with the new Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108.
