2007 Toyota Fj Cruiser Voodoo Blue on 2040-cars
Tucson, Arizona, United States
This FJ Cruiser is in excellent condition and has been well maintained. I am the original owner. No dents or rust and everything operates perfectly. I purchased every option available in 2007 except the roof rack. It has never been off road or modified. This is an extremely reliable and solid vehicle. I have only replaced brakes, tires and oil since I bought it.
The floor mats are the factory "chunky" rubber mates which are very durable and rugged. I will also include the original factory carpet mats which have never been in the vehicle so they're in new condition. I average 17 MPG in city driving and over 21 on the highway. Options include: cruise control, front and side airbags, power steering, power brakes, SERIOUSLY COLD AC, rear locking differential, towing package, spare tire cover, factory alloy wheels, 6 disc CD/MP3 stereo with factory subwoofer, inclinometer/compass mounted on dash board, rear back-up warning system, rear door cargo net installed in door, front windows have additional tinting, factory skid plate, leather-wrapped steering wheel, passenger arm rest, A/C power outlet located in rear storage area. I am selling this FJ Cruiser because my wife and I are having our fourth kid and we need a vehicle with more seating (this one seats 5). This has been my wife's and my favorite car since we bought it and we hope it will find a good home. |

NHTSA investigating 561k Toyota Prius hybrids for possible steering shaft defect
Mon, 25 Feb 2013The Detroit News is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will investigate some 561,000 Toyota Prius models for potentially defective steering shafts. The affected hybrid models are from the 2004-2009 model years. The story indicates that NHTSA is weighing whether or not to grant a defect petition, which claims that Toyota incorrectly assembled the hatchback's steering linkage.
As of this writing, there is no recall. However, a recall based on the Prius steering shaft would be the third related to steering issues for the model since 2006. Seven years ago, Toyota recalled 170K Prius models for potential cracking of the intermediate shafts, and in November of 2012, the automaker recalled 670K units to replace the steering shaft extension assembly.
We'll be monitoring NHTSA's signals to see if this investigation turns into a full-fledged recall. For now, stay tuned.
Two new RWD Toyota sports cars to join FR-S?
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Toyota as we know it could become a thing of the past. According to Australian site Car Advice, the Japanese brand known for bland cruisers like the Camry and Corolla is preparing to bring two new rear-drive cars to market that would slot above and below the Scion-badged FR-S. This is very, very good news.
Car Advice spoke to the GT86/FR-S' chief engineer, Tatsuya Tada, who claimed, "Akio Toyoda always says to me, Toyota sports car [family] should be three sports car brothers. 86 is in the middle." The oldest "brother" would be the spiritual successor to the Supra, even if it doesn't wear that name. Tada is in charge of that project, while a sub-GT86 project is being headed-up elsewhere.
Tada refused to comment on names (CA specifically mentions MR2 and Celica) for the new small car, but did say that, "Yes it is rear-wheel drive and that's Toyota's strong position - Toyota sports car must be rear-wheel drive." Perhaps the juiciest bit of information obtained from Tada's interview with Car Advice was his hinting that both new sports cars would be joint ventures, like the GT86/FR-S/Subaru BRZ triplets. Tada wouldn't say who Toyota was in bed with on the smaller model, but did mention that the Supra would be a product of the world's largest automaker's partnership with BMW.
