2005 Toyota Corolla S - 5spd on 2040-cars
Brockport, New York, United States
2005 Toyota Corolla S Newer Battery (2yrs old) Very Good condition Corolla S with only 92,448 miles on it. That's only a little more than 10,000 miles per year. Very well taken care of (2nd owner) with no leaks and no known problems. Great little car that is great on gas mileage (City 32 / Highway 41). Very quick car that is a lot of fun to drive. Very little wear and tear for a 9 year old car. Interior is in excellent condition, no rips, burns, stains or tears. Exterior is in very good condition, a few scratches from door dings but nothing out of the ordinary. The aftermarket Auto VentShade (Black visors on the side windows) on the driver door is broken. Replacement is $45 on Amazon but didn't want to replace if potential buyer was going to take them off anyways. Reserve is well below KBB quote on "Good" condition. Being driven so mileage may vary slightly.
***NOTE*** Please don't be scared away by the minor accident reported on the history report. The accident occurred back in May of 2005 with less than 600 miles on the car. It has been trouble free for 91K+ miles. No mechanical Issues, No Rust Issues.
Hate to get rid of it but our current situation requires a truck otherwise we would be keeping this. |

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
Honda may recall up to 1M vehicles for airbag issue, following Toyota's lead
Mon, 16 Jun 2014It seems Toyota won't be the only one recalling the faulty Takata airbag inflators for long. Honda insiders in Japan claim that the company is getting close to announcing its own worldwide campaign that would begin before the end of June.
Unnamed sources close to Honda in Japan tell Automotive News that the company is pursuing an internal investigation into possibly affected models and is working with Takata to gather more information. They claim that it could involve even more than the 1.14 million cars worldwide that the automaker covered under the first recall for the problem in April 2013, including 561,000 vehicles in the US.
Toyota jumpstarted this process last week when it recalled over 2 million cars worldwide, including 844,277 in the US. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began a preliminary evaluation into the issue following six reported incidents, and started assembling data about potentially affected models from Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Chrysler. NHTSA also began investigating Takata itself.
Toyota recalls another 2.9 million vehicles over Takata airbags
